XBox “1 VS 100″ Dead
The world has gone 1 VS 100 crazy recently. First we got the exclusive word that an American television network is looking at picking up 1 VS 100 for a brand new (and cheaper which will probably work better) series. Today, though, we get bad news. XBox has announced that it’s 1 VS 100 live arcade game has finished after two seasons. The show seemed strong, with tens of thousands playing for real cash and prizes each week.
The outcry for the death of 1 VS 100 has been very visible, too. Check out any tech blog and you’ll see an overwhelming if not unanimous declaration of sadness to see the show go away. It was very popular and done unbelievably well. It opened the door for a lot of social game show programming. I doubt we would have seen stuff like the Family Feud Facebook game without it. Good luck to the team. Can’t wait to see what else they come up with.
I really hope this vocal cry of support and love of the game and the show itself can convince That Certain Network that this is a show that needs picked up and put on. Good shows don’t stay away that long, as was evident by 1 VS 100 living this long in some way, shape, or form. Someone at the network should really look at how the unanimous reaction to the show coming back all over, not just from here or game show websites, has been, “Yes, please.” No quiz show in recent time has had this much support, and it can be a massive player and a long-awaited hit.

Sad to see it go, was a great game that I looked forward to playing each night it was on (and this coming from a Maryland resident – ineligible for the prizes). My girlfriend even joined Xbox Live specifically to play 1 vs 100.
Now if only they replace it with a massively multiplayer version of You Don’t Know Jack, all would be forgiven. Yeah, it’s probably a stretch, but a guy can dream right?
You have got to be kidding me. I got an XBox just to play this game…
Bwahahaha
It’s always the popular games that get axed. Hopefully this doesn’t derail the effort to get new shows on.
Are there any petitions to get Microsoft to reverse their decision? Vegeta figures that if MS doesn’t bring it back, “THEN THE WHOLE UNIVERSE IS GOING TO DIE!!!”
Well, there goes the only reason I’d use XBOX Live for.
