for a while I thought it was the short-lived Peter Tomarken hosted game show!
I havn't watched the American version that much, but it sounds like it might be interesting. One of the local stations in my hometown just switched its network affiliation to Global, and unfortunately with the way it's going I don't get TVTropolis right now. Still, it's good to see another American show being brought north of the border. The most recent couple of times it happened, it only lasted for a week's worth of shows.

I would imagine it'll be a much smaller prize than $50k since our shows tend to be lower budget, maybe $10K or $25K

I got through the entire application, and even got a call for auditions.. maybe it was your computer not working properly?

I am getting so FED UP that Quebec is always excluded from Canadian shows for casting or to enter a contest , Quebec is part of Canada and I am a proud Canadian living in Quebec. I am sure I am not the only one feeling this way……. frustrating….
Clara, its not that they want to exclude Quebec, its that the province has many laws which make it difficult to include in many areas. We run into these issues regularly within my marketing firm. You are best to petition your Government to loosen up a bit.
But here’s this thing: these rules only apply to chance-based contests like draws. The Wipeout Canada competition is based on skill,. Every conversation I had with the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux, which governs these things, yielded the same answer: there’s nothing preventing them from holding the contest for Quebec residents. Looks more like discrimination to me.
Wipeout is rigged. The qualifiying round starts out with 20 people of whom only 10 get through. Whether or not you get through is not based upon your time. The producers pick who they want to move on.
That’s a joke, right?
