“Who Wants to be a Millionaire” Eligibility Calls Now Going Out

100117_087Did you pass the Who Wants to be a Millionaire phone or computer game competition?  I’d start checking your phones starting today.  The show is now in the process of calling all of you who passed the quiz and are going to New York City to compete for $1,000,000.  If you passed, you selected one of six tape dates.  People are randomly selected from each specific tape date group and called.  If you get a call from the show, you’re going to be playing the Fastest Finger competition and potentially sitting in the Hot Seat.  Here’s a list of the potential tape dates and times, and when you should be expecting your call.

Tape Date Eligibility Call
July 29 July 16 9am – 6pm ET
July 30 July 16 9am – 6pm ET
July 31 July 17 9am – 6pm ET
August 3 July 17 9am – 6pm ET
August 4 July 20 9am – 6pm ET
August 5 July 20 9am – 6pm ET

So if you picked either July 29th or July 30th, be sure you’re near the phone number you entered when passing the exam from 9AM ET to 6PM ET.  They’re only going to call once so if you miss it, you’re out of luck.  Good luck, and if you beat the phone game be sure to tell us if you got the call or not.  I’m really excited and anxious to see if any of you are going on the show.

I passed the test and signed up for the Monday date. I will have my phone on me at all times tomorrow in the hope that I get the call.

  • James D. says:

Good luck to all that are waiting for a call!

  • Rob says:

No call. Time to warm up the video camera, I think… :)

  • BobHagh says:

I passed the video audition this week, so I'm taking the online exam tomorrow evening. If I pass it, I could get called next week for the Regis episodes. Good thing is that I stay in the pool for 2 years for the syndicated version as well!

  • Homerjay says:

    Ala, no call. :-(

  • Concerned Citizen says:

July 30th!!! I head off in 12 days!!!!! They didn't specify if I would participate in the first or second taping (I think there are two episodes being filmed that day, if I'm not mistaken) I passed the phone game 4 times out of 6.

Every time I post something on here, it gets deleted. Delete this post if you want; I'm the one getting a free trip to New York City. :)

  • Alex Davis says:

Congratulations! Please keep us up to date with your journey. I'm so excited for you. We'll all be sure to tune in and see you win the million.

And the comment situation is because of some bizarre thing with the new system. I'm still trying to figure it out. It's nothing personal, I promise, haha.

  • Chriscarrion says:

I wonder how many people around the country actually passed the test in the past 10 days? It definitely was NOT hyped as much as it was back in the day.

  • Craig says:

That's because the syndie ratings are hovering around 2 all season. I don't know what that translates as far as prime time goes, but I'll say this, it won't be pretty/

  • Mikey B. says:

Congrats–I'm hoping to get a call today. What time of day did they call? What did they ask you on the phone?

  • James D. says:

Way to go — congrats from a former Regis WWTBAM contestant! Make us proud :)

  • Ed T. says:

Congratulations! Would you please clarify what you mean by "passed the phone game 4 times out of 6"? Callers were allowed to qualify only once. After a successful call, no further qualifying calls were possible. Did you find some way around that limit?

Good luck with the Fastest Finger questions. That is an intense competition.

  • Neville says:

Congrats to anyone who gets/got a call – I've still got 2 1/2 hours left by the phone today, but I won't be broken up… there's always Meredith! :)

  • Paul says:

Any chance of you uploading your video to YouTube and letting us see what it took to get a pass? I submitted a video but didn't get an e-mail despite spending a decent amount of time putting it together. I'm curious about what I was missing.

Regardless, best of luck with the online test! Here's hoping you get on the show!

  • BobHagh says:

I just took the online quiz for the show, thanks to the video submission. Test was just like I expected (similar to taking it in New York City.) I felt good about getting at least 25 out of the 30 questions correct! Fingers crossed!!!

  • MarleysGh0st says:

Anyone have technical difficulties with your registration info not being recognized when trying to log in to the online test? Several folks on the WWTBAM Bored have reported this, so it seems to be a problem with their system.

  • Sayscalled says:

I'm a little confused… I sent in a video on Tuesday the 14th. I was told it was accepted, and that I would take the test on Friday the 17th. I did so, and left my numbers. It is Sunday the 19th. Should I still be waiting, or is it hopeless by now? I forgot this was being revived for a prime time special, and assumed it would be for the syndicated version. Thanks in andvance for any clarification.

  • Keith A says:

The calls for the video/online testers as well as for the road audition applicants should be going out this Tues. – Thurs., July 21-23.

  • Turtles says:

I qualified but did not get a call.

  • Sayscalled says:

One last question… I left them my cell phone as the alternate number. If for some reason I'm away from my primary number, will they try my cell? If they do miss me on my land line, would they leave a message, or no? Thanks in advance for the help

  • Jeff Metzner says:

I passed the phone game for the 8/4 tape date, but unfortunately I did not get a call today.

  • Turtles says:

There was no option of leaving an alternate number and, no, if you miss the call, they do not leave a message. They go to the next person on the list.

  • Sayscalled says:

After the online test, it left blanks to enter a "daytime phone" and an "optional alternate phone". If they call at 12:30 tomorrow, I'm screwed. That's why if they asked for an alternate number, I hope they use it. I just hope they call Wednesday or Thursday, if they plan to.

  • Booboola says:

According to the rules, Yes they will leave a message, if they call you. If you don't get called but you passed the test you will be put in the pool and may be called w/in the next 2 yrs for the syndicated version. They didn't leave messages for the phone game qualifiers but if they call you for passing the online test, they'll try each number you gave them once and leave a message requiring you to return the call by 6pm, that day. Good luck (to both of us!

PS- I assume they'll send out postcards or emails so people know whether they passed and are in the pool. Since if you are in the pool, you wouldn't need to try and audition again.

  • Booboola says:

They'll only call if you're chosen to be on th Primetime version. I assume postcards may go out to let the other people know if they passed and are in the pool for the syndicated show.

  • Sayscalled says:

Thanks for easing my mind! Good luck to all :)

Katy Perry to be a celeb guest on WWTBAM

  • BJJ says:

Has anyone who took the online test gotten any sort of notification about whether or not they're in the pool? It would be nice to have that information so as to know whether or not to keep auditioning. No need to if you're in the pool!

  • James D. says:

Way to go! As a former contestant on Regis BAM, I wish you well! Should be a lot of fun!
