It was very disappointing that $100,000 wasn’t won. Not only that, the producers opted not to add any twists to this one time only event, such as a $5,000 guarantee at the end of the game, or a $5,000 third toss-up, or having the $5,000 space in each round, or $5,000 added on Pat’s Final Spin. I have a good mind to throw the book at the show’s producers, but I guess it was for “undisclosed reasons” that they didn’t add those twists.
It was a heartbreaker to see the contestant lose the $100,000. However, I agree that they showed the right moment from all their years on the show. I’m of course referring to Pat’s final daytime episode in 1989, when he and Vanna were in the middle of a long kiss, only to have the boss, the late great Merv Griffin, tap Pat on the shoulder.
