Posted by Alex Davis as Countries, Who Wants to be a Millionaire?
Sorry! I was out of town this weekend and totally forgot your weekend video! Last week, something very funny happened on the German edition of Who Wants to be a Millionaire?. A contestant accidentally went into the host chair and did not realize it for a long time. What plays out is game show comedic gold, check it out. Don’t be afraid, there are subtitles for those that don’t understand German.
German’s Millionaire has an interesting new rule. If you want to give up the second milestone, you will be awarded a fourth lifeline, playing the Risk route. However, if you want both milestones, you only get the three regular ones.

I’d love to see Meredith react to something like this. If you’ve seen the remainder of the clip, how does she finish out? Also, in the German version, did I catch that right - there are 16 questions in the stack?

That was pretty hilarious! I wish that could happen in the US or even the UK. I kinda wish it happened to me. ;-)

That’s hilarious! That’s one lucky contestant, right there…having the host play the game for her…hahaha. I wonder how they handled the money situation…
While I don’t know whether it could happen to Meredith (since she stands too close to her chair after the contestant leaves), I’d love to see it happen to Chris Tarrant…

No, it’s 15. They start at 50 euros. They skip over the 250K.

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! Get that woman a Weiner Schnitzel and a beer!

Does anyone know what the fourth lifeline is for those who opt for the “Risk” style of play?

Someone on the WWTBAM fan board researched the fourth lifeline on the German show. Apparently, it’s kind of like 1 vs. 100, where the contestant talks to one person in the audience who thinks s/he knows the answer and tries to convince the contestant. If the audience member is right, s/he wins €500.
