Here’s our video of the weekend: England’s revival of Gladiators. It looks exactly like our season one, just a bit smaller, and that was a bit disappointing. Equally as disappointing as our season one was, actually. Here is their Eliminator which left a lot to be desired. No one seems to understand how to make the travelator doable apparently.

I have a theory as to why everyone’s having so much trouble on the travelator, the swim they have to take makes them wet and thus, slippery so they cant get enough traction, so when the red contender took her shoes off, that was a great strategy. either that or everyonbe’s just running it too fast.
Have you noticed that there is no rope?
Yes…No rope in this version. Very disappointing.
This version seems just as bad as the American one. The worst part of the show has to be the travelator. Nobody can do it the first attempt. Especially the women. Takes them at least 3 or 4 tries. Sad.
Judging by the initial speed of the travelator, It’d be quite difficult for someone to make it up that thing even before going through the rest of the course. It looks like it’s going twice as fast as the US version.
This is actually a massive case of one episode not being representative of the series as a whole – of the nine eps they’ve done so far, there have only been two or three where neither person made it up the travellator first time (indeed, there is good reason to beleive that whilst this episode wasn’t the first one shown, it was the first one recorded and they modified the course to suit).
Why is it disappointing for there not being a rope? We had eight years of there not being a rope in the nineties, perhaps we are just tougher than you are.
Also the smaller studio actually has the advantage of making the Eliminator more “do”able – reducing the massive variance in times which leads to much tighter races.
It’s the British version of the American version of the British version of the American version. That’s quite iterative.
