Weekend Replay: “Russian Roulette”

I will still go to the grave saying GSN’s best original, all around, they ever did was Russian Roulette.  And thank god that drop never got old.  Part of it was because of the exciting, scary, tense game play a few years ahead of its time.  It’s also partly due to the funny and fun contestants they had.  Anyone who screamed before they dropped made the show.  For this weekend, we found a great clip of a really funny Russian Roulette contestant: the nanny.  Please, GSN.  Revive.

I agree, that the screaming contestants made it so great, especially for us who knew the drop was only about 6-10 feet. They should definitely bring this back, it actually got a lot of attention because of the drop zones, and of course in TV any publicity is good publicity.

Personally, though, I doubt they’ll put it back on while Bingo America is still running I can’t see GSN having two regular series with a $100K top prize even though it’s so rare for a 6-figure win on either of them.

just one thing I’d like to mention is that a late friend of the family who was about 84 (i think) at the time would always watch the show and she may not have known the rules of the game, but she’d always bust laughing when they dropped.
