Weekend Replay: “QI” Series I
Football started back up today, so we can go back to pretending baseball doesn’t exist unless nothing else is on (rugby is playing on NBC, also, and I can’t recommend that enough). So while I’m wrapped up in that all day today I wanted to be sure to alert fans that BBC Two’s QI, what I strongly believe to be the best show on television anywhere today, recently started its new series, the “I” series. Few shows fit into our sarcastically titled “The British are Better Than Us” series than QI. It’s one of the reasons it exists. I get more emails about this than any other UK show. The first episode is called I-Spy. Are you a fan but didn’t get a chance to watch? It’s up and you can catch it right here.
Few shows are as fun, funny, intelligent, and good as QI. It’s a shame we won’t get an American version, but since we can see this one, it’s really no loss.

There was also a one-hour behind-the-scenes/documentary about QI this past weekend.
Well worth a watch just for the great classic clips (Julian Clary & the Queen, ‘They Say Of The Acropolis…’ to name two).
They say of the Acropolis where the Parthenon is….
They say of the Acropolis where the Parthenon is….
They say of the Acropolis where the Parthenon iiiiiiiiiiiiiissssssss….
This is quite an interesting show that I’ve never heard of before. I like the panelists’ humor interspersed with random and interesting knowledge. You can see they have a passing interest in the ‘game’ but are equally interested in the trivia as they are in getting the laughs. I wish we had something like this in the US.
Stephen Fry and Alan Davies!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
