We’ve been really busy the past few days and have neglected on updates and videos. Really sorry about that. In return, I thought that, in addition to the Deal or No Deal preview tomorrow, I’d go in our vault and find a great video. And thanks to one of our writers, we have it. Weakest Link is one of my favorite shows in a while. I’ve said it often, but I did think NBC screwed up the primetime versions. However, the daytime version with George Gray was fantastic. NBC host Anne Robinson wasn’t really given the time to show her true self, and the sped up gameplay of the syndicated version helped that. George was a master at taking down the contestants and kicking their asses. Enjoy the last 8 minutes of an episode of Weakest Link and see why George was the definitive US host of Weakest Link.

George Gray was really good in this role. However, the second season, which saw the altered money tree on display here, along with the elimination of the double round, really sunk the show for me. It felt like one round of gameplay was cut out for the sake of more filler – which, more often than not, was nowhere near as good as what was going on in this clip. Oh, and it was a pretty obvious move to trim the prize budget too, even though the show could now claim a larger top prize.

I don’t really care for the George Grey Version.I just thought he was really boring and dull and during his second season he look like he was bored with the show. I think if Weakest link started out with George Grey it wouldn’t be as interesting and i think people wouldn’t care for it. But with Anne it was different because she was mean to everyone and thats what made weakest link work and Anne puts feeling into her hosting which made it more interesting. But i wish they never over did it with the celebrities.
I wouldn’t mind having weakest link revived again with another host.

George Gray was much better IMO, Anne came across to me like she didn’t really want to be there and her jokes started sounding repetitive, Plus, her presence I think kinda jilted contestants so unblike the daytime version they were less likely to fire back at Anne (although some did).
George’s sarcasm was perfect becuase it’s no secret no $3,000 isn’t much money anymore and the show rarely gave away much more than that. plus, the lighter more sarcastic humor allowed george to improvise without breaking character and contestants would joke around more as well.

I believe those two final contestants like each other.

I actually enjoyed Anne’s version (other than the abundance of celebrity versions) over George’s. I really don’t know why, but I knew George was trying to be mean without copying Anne, and I didn’t think it worked all the time. Nevertheless I like both versions, but I still prefer Anne’s.

I still prefer Anne as well, but only at the UK.
