This will be weird for a European reader. European lottery shows have some knowledge involved usually, and are generally fairly entertaining. Take a look at “In It to Win It” or “1 vs. 100″ for that. Even the Dutch shows “Een Tegen 100″ and “Miljoenenjacht”, all of which are relatively hard quiz shows, are lottery shows. Doesn’t it make sense that America’s lottery shows will be purely luck based? Take a look at the new Ohio lottery game “Make Me Famous, Make Me Rich”.

It’s not *uite* the same, the lottery shows in Holland and the UK are pretty independent of the lottery itself. The one lottery show we had that had a proper lottery connection (as in you could buy scartchcards and hope they revealed that you could go on the show) had celebrities play for the contestants. The scratchcard winners didn’t actually do anything.
