I predicted this quite some time ago. I agree, I'm honestly not sure if they were kidding or not with this one, though.

They had it right in Quiz Show years ago. Martin Scorcese gets a great speech. I see Friar Simon quoted this on another page of this blog, but it's still amazingly apt:

"But even the quiz shows'll be back. Why fix them? Think about it, will ya? You could do exactly the same thing by just making the questions easier. See, the audience didn't tune in to watch some amazing display of intellectual ability. They just wanted to watch the money."

(Continued from last post)

Several "rounds" were played' the last question was for "all or nothing." The contestant who answered this question not only had control to "call" or "pass," but the would either steal their opponent's total and, win the game, or vice versa.

An end game was played for prizes. Four prizes of escalating value were in play. A pre-determined "heads or "tails" was assessed to each prize. The contestant simply had to make the right call in order to win a prize. Up to the third prize, if the player made a wrong call, the gmae neded, but they kept whatever they won up to that point. If they won three prizes, then th could stop, or risk losing everything if they missed the final call.

,,,And that's how "...anything can happen with...THE TOSS OF A COIN!"

When I was in college, I had an idea for a game show utilizing a "heads or tails" concept. It was nothing like this though.
My idea was called (working title) "Toss of a Coin." It was inspired by the Heatter-Quigley game show of the time ("Gambit" & the original "High Rollers") involving two contestants; one the "Heads" player, the other "Tails." in a straight-up Q&A contest. The first contestant to correctly get a toss-up question, played for a randomly determined ammount of momey ($25 minimum; the maximum value would gradually increase as the game progressed). The player in control could then opt to "toss" their coin, or pass to their opponent. If the coin came up with that player's designation (heads or tails) then, the'd win the money. If the "call" went the other way, the opponent got the money.

The host is Justin Lee Collins. And this is an 11-episode series.

"Heads Or Tails?" sounds much closer to a spoof of "you don't need a brain to play!" games than an actual generic one that actually got full-studio audiences in to watch.

The worst part? I couldn't watch past the first two minutes.
