iOS Morning Buzz: “Only Connect”, “Lingo”, “You Don’t Know Jack”, “The Cube”, and “Crystal Maze”
I just got the iPhone 4S so this post is incredibly timely. I often get asked about ways to play different popular game shows. The iOS platform, for iPhone or iPad, is the easiest way to take the game with you. There are many new and updated games which can keep you busy for hours. Take a look at a choice few that we found and feel will get you excited.
*Everyone’s favorite show that makes them feel stupid, Only Connect, has a new way to play. If you’re the owner of an iPad or iPhone, you now get to play the Connecting Walls yourself. If you aren’t familiar with them, sixteen clues are given on a grid, and you just need to find four sets of four matching items and say what they have in common. The new iOS version lets you play as you would in studio. Click on the clues to see if they fit together. You’ll also get some video and audio with host Victoria Coren. The $1.99 game comes packed with 20 walls and two extra sets of 10 are available for $0.99 each. Click here to visit the iTunes Store and purchase the game. It’s a lot of fun. Don’t miss it.
*GSN’s in-limbo show Lingo received a very obvious iOS game, but specifically for iPhone and iPod Touch. Given how addictive playing along is, this is a no-brainer. The game costs $0.99 and lets you play a game similar to the show. Guess as many words as you can in the time limit and try to get five in a row on your Lingo board to win bonus points. See where you stack up on the leader board. Click here to visit the iTunes Store and get the game.
*Given how long it took to get You Don’t Know Jack back, I’d like to see it stick around for a while. That’s why I wanted to be sure to warn you that their iOS game has been getting many new episodes. They’re getting close to releasing a six pack of episodes soon also, and for $2.99 it’s hard to beat the comedy and fun of You Don’t Know Jack. Download that from here. You won’t regret it.
*If you’ve got either The Cube or The Crystal Maze app, they’ve done a lot of updates for each recently. Lots of new games have been added. Two new game packs are available for The Cube, along with a free one just released the other day. Crystal Maze has added at least two new games for each of the four separate challenge areas, which adds greatly to the replay value. Click here for The Cube and here for Crystal Maze. Both are fun time killers.
