The payoff should go like this:

$5,000 for every chip the lost by the loser.
$5,000 for every chip retained by the winner.
If the winner has retained all 10 chips, their winnings for that round are multiplied by 10. (Up to $1,000,000 for a single duel!)

This way, longer games mean bigger wins (as the loser drops more chips) and being stingy with the chips pays off.

And did I say "drops"? That's what the chips SHOULD DO! Fire the chip girls, please.

Poor Duel. I guess the show's first impressions killed off the audience. Greenberg has potential to host a hit game show. He actually sort of reminds me of Pat Kiernan, only because they came from different fields before hosting in this genre...both became solid game show hosts. By the way, is WSOPC coming back? I heard that Kiernan's sending out Facebook messages that VH1 isn't airing the series anymore...if that's true, I guess we'll have to get ready for "That's Amore Two".

I do like the new season of Duel. I have to agree though that you should still win something if you risk it and lose. Maybe you leave with no less than $2,500 that way a person who wins a duel still wins something. I think a person who doesn't win should at least leave with $1,000. I know you may think where's the risk factor but i think knowing that a player would leave with something might convince them to want to go on. I have an idea of how this could go down

1st Duel won- $25,000 ( possible total with pepsi max question)- $50,000

2nd Duel won- $50,000 (possible total with pepsi max question)- $100,000

3rd Duel won- $100,000 ( possible total with pepsi max question)- $200,000

4th Duel won- $200,000 ( possible total with pepsi max question)- $400,000

5th and final duel won- $375,000 ( possible total with pepsi max question)- $750,000

                                                total $1,500,000

also after each Duel you will have the option of taking your winnings and leaving or you can go on to the next Duel. If you lose the next duel then you leave with 1/5 of your winnings.

For Example

you had Now you have sense you lost your next duel
$25,000- $50,000- $5,000-$10,000

So what do you think about this idea? I think it would give an incentive to go on

It's really a tragedy duel is doing so poorly over on this side of the atlantic, Mike Greenberg is doing an awesome job this season and the game really has potential, I like what the Brits are doing though, the contestants talk to each other more, the tension seems perfect especially considering this guy was going for nearly 500,000 pounds (which If I'm up to date on excahnge rates is over $1.1 million)

I think the main problem duel is ahving right now is the payoffs are too low and the contestants are chickening out way too early, if the show getsa another season, next time maybe they could either do what The Joker's Wild did win 4 games you add a jackpot that starts at $250,000 if you lose your money is added to the pot, payoff is $3,000 per remaining chip with the chance to double on the max question.

or if you lose your opponent's winnings are deducted from your winnings and 4 wins gets a $250,000 jackpot + previous winnings.

and I still think the "accelerator" is a better name than just "press" but "(insert name) you've been pressed you have 7 seconds max" sounds way better than "(insert name) has hit the accelerator you have 7 seconds max"

WOW! What a superior version of Duel. The problem is with these LA types who feel they have their pulse on the country it far from it. Having reality show actors as contestants that over react to everything insults our intelligence. DOND has become a ridiculous, with the shows now being self contained you can guess what is going to happen and it doesn’t help that they tease the next segment. These companies need to get a clue. The top rated syndicated shows for the last 20 years have been Wheel and Jeopardy. The game is simple and the contestants are real people. On that note I will add that I am dreading to see the new version of Password, it was one of my favorites.

The progressive jackpot worked fine for me, both in the US and UK versions. The only thing I didn't like about the US tournament was the fact that not everyone got to play.
