UK “Deal or No Deal” 500th Episode Information
British Deal or No Deal is taking our 100th episode and making it their 500th. The 500th episode of Deal or No Deal, which will air on June 29th, will feature an audience of all former contestants, including Laura Pearce, the first £250,000 winner; Nick Bairn, the first 1p winner; and one of our favorites: Bunney, who won £110,000. However, Laura’s win might soon be trumped by the 500th episode winner’s top prize, a possible £500,000. Be on the lookout for it. It’ll appear on YouTube somewhere down the line.
I can only imagine what they’ll do if someone wins 1p on this episode. Perhaps they will just give them £30,000 for no reason.
Maybe they’ll have 26 beautiful British models, a banker in a box, and a chance at a million Pounds.
This is more of an “underground” version of our show.
Maybe they’ll have a fomer contestant a second chan… oh wait a minute, UK doesn’t copy our stuff. Heh heh.
If they post it on youtube, they better have the entire episode and not just the last 10 minutes for this is a milestone episode for them.
Shoot, I’m imagining what will happen with the US Deal’s 200th. Ten-fold DEAL? Where one case contains $10,000,000 all the way down to a dime… heh heh. That’ll probably be the final episode.
That’d be a funny way to do a final episode. It’d be even funnier if Power of 10 is an ungodly flop, which it may yet be.
US-style DoND in the UK? It’d be effectively the equivalent of a tax-free Double Deal game. Yes really. (£1 = $2, near enough, and UK game show winnings aren’t taxed.) Add to that the fact that we’re still somewhat more cautious than the US generally (except the ones that actually get onto DoND aren’t…) and you have a recipe for an early Deal. Heck, I know I’d be gone early with the right board, as I’d probably take the first six-figure offer I got.
Both the US and UK versions of DoND are Great in their own way, I put them at #1 and #2 respectively.
Now first of all, I think a $10,000,000 game would be a great thing if it were done just one time, or once a season. You’ve got the potential for records to be shattered across the board!
Second, don’t tell me you forgot about the fact that UK DoND has done 500,000K games before (Christmas 2006), don’t act as if you haven’t seen it before.
Third, Power of 10 could very well be a surprise hit, think about it.
Power of 10 may be full of Drew Carey’s jokes, let alone $10M.
Game show winnings are untaxed in the UK?!?!? I may have to go to London sometime and get on a game show there!

And I’m willing to bet that there’s going to be real pressure to No Deal for this contestant, even more than usual. Five names are mentioned in the press release; only one of them Dealt, and that was Bunney who took some huge gambles earlier in the game. There is specific mention of ‘courageous players’ too. I cannot see how this leads to anything other than contestants offering advice to No Deal. That’s what happened to Lucy – two reckless ex-contestants offered advice, she turned down an offer that was very generous indeed, and it backfired. Ironically Lucy’s going to be there for #500. Her advice is going to be very very interesting.
I didnt start getting into the UK Deal daily until about a month after Laura took the 250K. Never knew UK deal did a Double Deal. :-)
Well, the 26 British models wouldn’t hurt either.
