Tune In: Finale of “20Q” and “The Money List” Tonight
Endemol was nice enough to remind me about the very entertaining show 20Q tonight. Sadly it’s the “season” finale so if you’re a fan of the quiz show hosted by Cat Deeley, it’s most likely your last chance for a new episode. I’ve seen the ratings for it and for what I have to believe is due to a pretty bad scheduling and programming decision, I’m regretfully doubting it’ll be coming back. It’s sort of a shame. I spent so much time under the assumption, just from the pilot, that it sucked. Then the series rolls around and it ends up much better than I ever anticipated. I mean I don’t know if they are going to try to shop it around to other networks or anything, but I’d really like to see them try. The season finale is tonight at 8:00PM ET.
I’d be a jerk not to mention that The Money List apparently has its finale tonight also. It says it’s episode nine but I’m not sure how many episodes were taped. I hope it’s not being cut short. Again, I inclined to believe it’s just an awful programming strategy focused on bribing viewers to watch on a night that’s dead for television which caused the poor ratings it got. Seriously, I don’t think it takes a rocket scientist to realize that if people don’t watch TV on Saturdays to begin with you aren’t going to bring in the people with game shows. I’m not sure of the status of 20Q or The Money List, and I hope they stick around but it’s looking unlikely. The Money List already got a second chance so I don’t think we’ll be seeing it again. Fred Roggin hosts it, and he’s been doing a fantastic job at it so hopefully we get to see him on a show which doesn’t get screwed over. The Money List airs at 10:00PM ET.

It's a shame–both of these shows seem like they'd make good additions to the GSN roster on a weekly basis.
The only issue with 20Q is the semi-final round. It doesn't work quite so well on TV as it might live, because you play the same clues. It would be better to do a best-of-three type round. Wrong answers give the opponent a free clue and a free guess.
But according to Wikipedia, the Money List episodes were shot a year ago, so it's unlikely it'd make a return in any case. 20Q might do better, though.
I think Money List would do better with a new host, its just my opinion, but I just don't think game show hosting is his "cup of tea".
I think the Money List would be much better to do :) but we will see. Anyway i guess ill be watching BBC this fall because the UK version called "Who Dares Wins" is going into a 3rd season.
The Money List worked well on GSN. By far, one of my favorites. It took me a while to get hooked on 20Q, but it grew on me, and it is fun to watch it with friends and family so you can play along. I hope both shows come back with better programming schedules.
The shows were good, the "Big Saturday Night" concept was not, even though it gave studio and home players a chance to win money. I hope they come back. I'm also guessing that if TML comes back, the champs will return.
I sure hope that "The Money List" doesn't succumb to the old "Winning Lines" syndrome (by that, I mean a good game show done in by bad ratings due to being stuck in a Saturday night time slot). I haven't seen 20 Qs, but judging from what I've heard, it looked like it was starting to show signs of improvement. As for BS Night, well, good riddance to bad rubbish. Like many of you, I hope that both shows do make a return (especially The Money List, even though filming for this past season ending a year ago), unless GSN programming decides to lard up Saturday night with Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, Deal or No Deal and Family Feud (Karn version). Given what's happened in the past year with GSN, I'm hoping for the best, but expecting the worst…
I hope that both shows come back too. I liked 20Q better but both shows were entertaining and fun to play along with. I also really liked the sound track for 20Q, wonder if i can find that online. Hopefully GSN does the right thing and bring back these two shows…. and put them in better time slots. Also, DON'T REPEAT THE SAME EPISDOE 3 HOURS LATER AND THE NEXT AFTERNOON!!!!!
I could definitely see 20Q and The Money List working as syndie game shows. Just throwing it out there as food for thought.
I don't think either show was all that good, but they deserved better than to be part of that horrible Saturday Night crap. Whoever thought of that needs to be fired immediately.
I hope 20Q isn't gone for good, hopefully GSN will give it another chance, or hopefully if can be a syndie show…Hopefully.
I really liked 20Q. GSN don't cancel it.
GSN should cancel it. What is the point in paying for original programming and then dumping it on Saturday night with horrible segments interrupting it and then never promoting it? As I said, I didn't like the show very much, but if you did, you should hope GSN cancels it and it finds a home somewhere that will treat it well.
I would agree with some of you. 20Q should be in syndication. Sure it won’t put up Wheel or J! numbers, but it will have respectable (per syndication standards) ratings. GSN should’ve learned from the broadcast networks, which hasn’t aired original scripted shows this century.
what there they thinking? If GSN should cancel it. we 're back to air the fucking same abused 14 episodes of "Dog Eat Dog,"
Neither show looked bad. In fact, both were awesome. The people of GSN are morons for putting two great shows on Saturday, which is a really bad scheduling decision, IMO. If The Money List ever returns, I hope it moves to NBC because they are due for a hit. Fred Zucker, I hope you're reading this b/c what the treatment that Fox gave the original (The Rich List) in November 2006 was uncalled for. NBC, The Money List should be your show.
The only good thing about 20Q was Cat Deehley: charming, funny, and gorgeous. The game itself was weak and the banter that the "computer" made was unbearable. I can't believe so many people like this show; it drove me INSANE. It's a shame, because the 20Q game itself (that little electronic dingle thing) was solid and could have been the basis of a show on its own. Alas, GSN diluted it and made it into a gimmicky, weak vehicle for a witty, extremely attractive host.
