TruTV Orders Singing Game Show “Killer Karaoke” Hosted by Steve-O
TruTV is ordering one of its first game shows in a long time. The former CourtTV has ordered the new singing game show Killer Karaoke. The series will be hosted by Jackass, well, jackass Steve-O. The show is based on the ITV show Sing If You Can, where celebrities have to sing various popular songs while being distracted in physical and often disgusting ways. The American version will feature civilians playing for a cash prize. Killer Karaoke will begin taping on October 11th. The last game show on the network was in 2003, while the network was CourtTV, called Fake Out. Check out a clip of the British version of Killer Karaoke below.

I guess we figured out where the ex-programming chief of GSN went! :-D
In seriousness, this just sounds too gimmicky, not to mention Steve-O doesn’t sound like the kind of guy who can keep things level in chaos. It probably won’t last too long.
If the British version was as terrible as I remember it, and we’re basing ours off it, then I can see this, quite sadly, going a long time.
I quite enjoyed our version in the end – didn’t take itselt seriously, and in point of fact improved on many of the international versions I’ve seen with many of the decisions made.
I’m not sure it is originally British by the way, pretty sure the first version was Danish, under the title Twist and Shout.
I think this show is gonna suprise everyone with doubts. Killer Karaoke is just FUN! Good old crazy fun… Laugh out loud fun… This show is for people that can take a joke :)
