Travel Channel Casting for UK Import “Scream if You Know The Answer”

It looks like we’ve got another British import on the way.  This one comes care of Lion TV on the UK station Watch and it’s called Scream If You Know the Answer.  It basically resembles Cash Cab, which the producers of this new show also do, but it takes place on a roller coaster.  Contestants score points in a rotating number of rounds depending on how long they can last or how well they do answering questions or performing challenges while on a roller coaster.  The highest scoring team plays the end game to win up to $5,000.

It looks like it’s been a minor fan favorite in the United Kingdom.  As far as I heard it didn’t do out-of-this-world numbers but it did well enough to get a second season.  I’ve heard it’s brainless family fun so maybe some of our UK readers can warn us what we’re in for if this makes it to series.  By the way, the US version, which will tape at Magic Mountain at Santa Clarita, CA.  If you live close to there and can make it in the park and want to play, click here.  Take a look below at some of the UK version.  Is this something you’re looking forward to?  Looks like harmless, goofy fun.

Didn’t Nickelodeon have a short-lived game show which was essentially the same concept?

  • Alex says:

I’ve just got into this show here in the UK and I have to say, it’s great fun. A nice concept, is less repetitive than I was expecting.

  • Brig Bother says:

It’s not a perfect show by any means, but it’s good fun and attracts better-than-you’d-expect celebrities for a show that goes out on a minor cable channel.

OK, looks like a typo on the Craig’s list. Green Lantern is still under construction and behind construction walls (scheduled to open on June 17th).

I am pretty sure they meant between Ninja and Superman: Escape from Krypton, which is located at top of Samurai Summit.

If you don’t have park tickets, you can buy them online at a very good discount.

Who knows, I might drive up with my wife. We were just there on Thursday filming for the Travel Channel (Bert the Conqueror show).

    • Lee LLoyd says:

Actually, July 1rst is the date they’re giving us employees, and the entire Batman back lot is behind construction walls, it’ll become the DC Universe with Batman and Green Lantern both in that area of the park with Riddler’s Revenge right around the corner. :D

  • John says:

It’s just like the short lived 2 season game show on cartoon network called BrainRush (which the kids version was taped at Knott’s Berry Farm) only with adults.

  • David Michael says:

OK, my wife and I went up to audition yesterday, and here are a few more facts about the filming.

The working title of the show is “Scream! If You Know The Answer”, and will be hosted by Bert Kreischer (Also the host of the Bert the Conqueror show on the Travel Channel, which is based on Theme/Amusement parks and thrill type individual events).

Filming of the show will be held at Six Flags Magic Mountain from June 8th through the 17th.

And they were shocked at how many folks were coming up to audition, a lot more folks than they expected! But then again, it was a busy day at the park, and I think the majority of folks just were walking by the sign and decided to fill out the audition form.

FYI, Magic Mountain is in Valencia, not Santa Clarita. For those seeking it out.

  • Actually, Magic Mountain is in the City of Santa Clarita. The “community” of Valencia used to be its on its own, but merged with the City of Santa Clarita in 1987.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valencia,_Santa_Clarita,_California

So when the post office was built in the early 70′s, they got their own Zip Code and the name of “Valencia”, but it has never been its own city.

And to add to the confusion, the City of Santa Clarita does not operate its own Police force, instead opting to hire the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department to handle Law Enforcement, and why you will find a LASD Sub-Station at the entrance to Six Flags Magic Mountain.

Also, the new Roller Coaster, Green Lantern has been delayed and now scheduled to open on July 1st.

Very helpful link guys… I wen up with my girlfriend on Saturday to the table and we filled out an application… Apparently they liked us because we got a call today that we have been selected for participation in the show :)

  • Aaron H says:

I went on June 6 to Magic Mountain. While walking to the back of the park, I saw the sign for a new Travel Channel game show hosted by Bert Kreischer. I think they were taping on Superman and X2, since they were closed for a while. Anyone confirm this?

    • Jeff H says:

I can confirm that they were filming when I was there June 13, 2011. They approached me to have me audition, but I was only in the LA area until June 15th so I couldn’t stay to compete.

Also, the Green Lantern Fist Fight (or is it First Flight) is indeed behind schedule and they haven’t updated the sign. Park employees had an “oh well” attitude about the delay, but it looks fun whenever it finally opens.

  • David Michael says:

Wednesday, July 13th, Bert Kreischer was on ABC’s Good Morning America promoting his current show, but did mention that his next project is “Scream!” for the Travel Channel, and they did show a short clip of him asking a question. So it looks like a serious “Go” for the show. Of course, everything is always subject to change. But knowing the Travel Channel, they filmed it and it is in the can, no reason to waste footage.
