I agree, I would not stop watching a show just because they got rid of the Mark Goodson Productions line, but I can understand why some might not be thrilled with it. After all, look at Mark Goodson's run compared to Fremantle's. While Mark Goodson did have some unsuccessful game shows, I don't think he had quite the same, er, "success" with some of the shows that Fremantle has. $OTC, Card Sharks, Match Game, Press Your Luck, for example - all remade and produced under the Fremantle name and all of them failed (or are in the process of failing). So, I can understand the connection and the dislike for the change. Some might view it as foreshadowing!

Probably 0.001% of society even gives a darn about the FremantleMedia/Mark Goodson Productions issue. If you're angry or upset over such a small thing, seek assistance.

At least they should keep the MGP logo and put a Fremantle byline under it. That way, everyone will be happy.

If you people are going to be so picky as to bitch and moan about the Fremantle thing, come on. I know it's typical to be picky of a first show and do a close reading of it, but it has nothing to do with Drew hosting or with gameplay WHATSOEVER. People aren't going to switch their TV sets for good and ban themselves from watching CBS because "Oh lord - it's now a *FREMANTLE MEDIA PRODUCTION*! I AM NEVER WATCHING AGAIN AAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!111111111111" Dumb.

"A Freemantle Media Production". What Happened To A Mark Goodson Production. That has always been a staple of the closing credits of the tpir for years. CBS, Don't Mess With A Good Thing.

not bad. the lack of big money games I think is to get Drew quickly accustomed to the "core" of pricing games quickly also since it was a perfect show, i wouldnt be shocked that CBS showed the eps out of order to get the excitement of a perfect show right off the bat since it was in the can. Not a bad idea either way. I see the complaint, at least they didnt gratitutously jack up the prize value to compensate a la davidson's version.

He loves the show, he made many rookie mistakes (giving away the prizes before the reveal the most glaring although bob DID sometimes do this, namely for lucky $even given the unique reveal.)

Id be careful about the bob references...drew was saying that he was booed once by the fans for making fun of bob's age. Older people are a large portion of TPIR's audience, dont want to ailinate them too much.

Is it me or did Drew change frames on his glasses to look like bill cullen. those glasses look very cullenesque. Talk about a nod to tradition.

Didnt mind the fremantle reference, get a life folks.

DID mind drew getting overexcited...he will grow into it though.

Alex,

If this is how you treat people who come to your site, I will never darken your doorstep again. You need to learn how to treat people with respect. You don't agree with my opinions? Do so in a civilized tongue.

I just found your site the other day and I want to say I really enjoy it.

But let me say this: it's not really fair to judge someone on their first (or 7th) show.

When Bob started on Sept. 4, 1972, he already had roughly 15 years of experience, thanks to "Truth Or Consequences".

Drew has had roughly 5 episodes of "The Power of 10", a completely different type of game show.

And admit it--"Whose Line Is It Anyway?" was NOT a game show.

He did okay on the first aired episode. He WILL improve and I can see him doing this for at least ten years, maybe more.

But I know we won't be seeing anyone else host a game show for 35 years.

Anyway, thanks for letting me vent.

Honestly, I wanted to like the premiere episode of the new Price. I really did. Too bad I just didn't. I'm still trying to give it a few months to see how it evolves, but the show just seemed all over the place to me.

I really didn't like "SFX person" thing for One Away instaed of saying "Ladies....". Ezekiel Barker? Just corny and NOT funny to me. I also don't like the way the upcoming games or prizes are given away before the reveal. Kinda anti-climactic. Also, I thought this was supposed to be the premiere of the 36th season? Where's Golden Road? Plinko? 3 Strikes? Triple Play? It was just like any other day-to-day show. I wasn't really thrilled about the new music. It just didn't sound right to me. The whole thing grades about a C- for me. Maybe I was expecting too much - I know there really isn't anyone who could host the same way Bob did. But again, I'll give it some time....and hope for some improvements.

On a positive note, I REALLY like the new set, except for the showcase podiums. They remind me of a 1960s percolator. And the showcase font is very Gilligan's Island. But at least the set blends together pretty well.

I was slightly disappointed with Drew's debut. That said, all of the problems that I saw were almost all explainable to lack of experience. Drew needs to be more comfortable with the games, the camera blocking, and most importantly -- how to deal with the crazy contestants. I know he's not Bob, but Bob was a calm center of the crazy TPiR storm. Drew looked a little (concerned? confused? out of place? uncaring?) with some of the jumping/hugging going on. His adlibbing will be great once he figures out how to roll with it. He needed to be more respectful of the sponsors' products, too. He actually dismissed the 2nd showcase as "a bunch of other stuff too" instead of at least mentioning "the trailer, kitchen set, and giant sandwich".

He WILL grow into the host role. I see the potential. I want him to succeed. The first show was just "eh" to me. Looking forward to seeing it in a year.

At the very end, the Fremantle logo is on every episode. The MG logo is tradition and should not be tampered with. Will it stop me from watching the show? Hardly? Am I disgusted? ABSOLUTELY.
