I must be the world's biggest jerk, but I can't help but break out into peals of laughter when I see that clip. He shouldn't have risked using that particular help when so few mob members were remaining. As a former mob contestant, I'm *always* rooting for the mob to take the money away... I won $4000 last season and I'll be on the new season airing Jan 4!

Tough break for him!

That was some UK Celebrity edition where the 15th Question was answered incorrectly, but the question was flawed so they were invited back. They left with £500K when they returned.

I forgot about the guy who lost $475K on 5th Grader. I didn't see it, but I heard about it. I'd probablly go for a $1M Question too if the question was at a 5th grade level.

It's not the biggest loss ever, that's the $475k loss on Fifth Grader as Bob points out. It is, however, the biggest loss without a consolation prize on any game show in the world (unless I'm severely mistaken - Avila lost $200,000, while the other big 'loss without a consolation prize' came over here on PokerFace (a show I wish you guys had had) where one contestant lost £75,500 and went away with nothing. That's just shy of $150,000 at the current exchange rate, but UK game show prizes are tax-free, and once you take that into account this loss at least beats Dan's and possibly even Raul's. (By the same principle, the $475k loss on Fifth Grader is still trumped by the two £218,000 losses on our Millionaire, and one of those two losers went on to enter Grand Slam - which for us had a £1,000 buy-in - and promptly lost in round one, total game show losses £219,000.)

But I digress. That was just an insane moment well worth its place here.

Ohhhh, Marc you're right. His two other teammates both had $600,000. Dan only had $200,000. My bad!

i'm pretty sure bob's right about it that $475,000 is the biggest loss. Dan lost $200,000 (only lol) a close second goes to an air force captain on the premiere ep. of show me the money who lost $420,000 on the dreaded killer card.

everytime I see this clip I get goosebumps, I actually saw this as a rerun at a party this summer and I was the only one who had seen it before and I was just dying trying not to spoil it and as soon as answer B lit up everyone in the room screamed in agony.

Poor Raul, even the mob didn't know how to react, but some good came out of it for Raul, technically he did get to live out being a high roller he bet $263,000 on one question. and for those of you who didn't see it on the season finale (i think) mob member #75 actually gave Raul $10,000 to bet on a game of blackjack and he won (they split the $20,000). just a thoguht would Raul amke a good contestant on grand Slam if they had another season? obviously he'd be the 16th seat since he won $0.

I think the biggest lost came from "Greed" with Dan Avila. He risked $600,000 to win a potential 2 Million, but the got the question wrong, meaning he dropped down to $0 (A loss of $600K)

More recently, another big game show lost to day was from "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?" A man went for the $1,000,000 question (had $500,000 up to that point), and answered the question WRONG! He dropped back down to $25,000, which results in a lost of $475,000 :(
