Probably the reason that Roger Dobkowitz wasn’t picked as executive producer of Drew Carey’s version of “TPIR” is that he was a Barker ‘yes man’ while Barker was host of the show, and due to tensions that went on behind the scenes of the show with its models (and the fact that Roger didn’t support them with their cases) speaks volumes, and Drew (and FremantleMedia) probably didn’t want anymore of that BS to be on the new show, so they are starting off with a ‘clean slate.’

This is exactly why I suggested Carey’s Cuties over The Price is Right Girls. They soound like a singing group, or a bunch of backup dancers on a ’70s variety show, like Brandon said.

Not Carey’s Cuties? Awww. Oh, well. As someone else said a while ago, the pricing games named for Bob Barker will have to be changed as well. Barker’s Markers should become Carey’s Check Marks or something, and Barker’s Bargain Bar should be changed to Drew’s Garage Sale or something like that. As for the set, I hope that they con’t overhaul it completely. They still need to have some kind of link to the show’s glorious past, although a few set changes probably couldn’t hurt. I actually kinda liked the background used on the turntables.

Okay I just watched the late late show and they had Drew Carey on as a guest. Here’s what he said..

1. The set will have the same doors, and layout but it will be changed. He said he was going to see the new set for the 1st time on Thursday so maybe we will see some pics of the set around that time.

and

2.”Barker’s Beauties” will now be called “The Price Is Right Girls”.

So help me, the very first time I saw Drew Carey on TV (I think he was on Comedy Central, and doing stand-up) I thought to myself, HE’LL play the title role, if they ever make the movie, “The Bill Cullen Story” !!!
