“The Cube” Renewed for Fourth Series; Gets Video Game Adaptation
When The Cube begins a new series, it demands full attention. ITV and Objective Productions have announced that the hit British game show has been renewed for a fourth series. The third series is currently airing Sunday evenings. The third series premiere saw almost four million viewers tune in. The fourth series will tape this summer in England. If you’re in the country and want to step into The Cube, click here to email the show for an application. It would be great to have the first person to defeat The Cube be from BuzzerBlog.
Adam Adler, the show’s creator, told Digital Spy, “We’re delighted that The Cube has been recommissioned for a fourth series. We’ve got loads of ideas for exciting new games that people will be able to play both in the real Cube and in their living rooms across the country.” This series has upped the ante with new lighting, new games, and new challenges as people take on the still-unbeaten The Cube for its £250,000 prize.
If you can’t make it inside the actual Cube, you’ll get a chance to play its games any time you want soon. Europress will release a home console video game based on The Cube towards the end of 2011. It is not known what console the game will be for. You’ll be able to play the game as if you were on the show, or you can play in various different versions including a new multiplayer mode. I’ve got a feeling that we’ve got quite a few readers who will be trying to get their hands on that as soon as possible.

Would make a great Kinect 360 game !!!
It would also be good for the Wii.
I hope the video game comes to the USA, and more importantly, I hope there will soon be a USA version of the Cube, b/c I want to be on this show.
I will buy a copy of The Cube if it come’s out on the PS Move and is done PROPERLY! I don’t know who has been hired to produce it, but if they’ve given it to a terrible studio (as all game show video games are) I will not be happy.
I am wondering though, aren’t there “region” settings on game machines? I know their used to be, ie, so, they could sell a game to only be playable on systems sold in the US, or Japan, etc.
I am just wondering if they would make this game only work on European machines, since, we don’t air “The Cube” in the U.S.
I’d been wondering the same thing. Video game systems do have region settings, much as televisions do. And yes, a UK game will not play on an American set.
Too bad. One of the chaps unto whom I had been beating the drum for “The Cube” did watch it on YT. He came back with such descriptions as “Cool!” and “Awesome!”.
The Xbox 360 and Wii are region locked, meaning you won’t be able to play on those systems without special region unlocking software.
However, if the game comes out on the PS3, it will be region free, and work on all PS3s everywhere. I managed to get You Don’t Know Jack from Canada for my UK PS3 :)
