When it comes to this show, the British aren't better than us.
To paraphrase something one of the survivng Beatles said about not reuntiting, "as long as John Lennon remains dead.."
…We won't see any truly great, "standout" game shows as long as Goodson and Griffin remain dead."
You only play for one pound if your team bombs out all 6 questions in round 1 and have the 1 pound in your box… It's not that likely, kind of like hitting the one pence (or 1c) in DonD.
6 questions and 70 seconds just sounds weird and out of place! It was 100 seconds, that's a nice round number.
Maybe I'm odd and a minority, but I enjoyed this game personally. I liked it. I do think cutting it to 3 contestants and a 30-minute show would make many of the lagging problems better, but I personally liked it. Like…if it were Americanized, I'd totally watch it. I was intrigued. Maybe I'm weird.
I think that what really became boring was the second round of Six in a Row. Other than that, however, this was a REALLY great show.
