Posted by Alex Davis as GSN, Opinion, Reader Input, That's The Question
Tonight GSN will begin a new season of their hit trivia show That’s The Question at 9PM ET. We already went over the new set and logo and all that stuff. Also, don’t forget there are actual decent writers this season, which makes it thrilling enough. Obviously this will be waiting until it airs, but what did you think of the show? I’ll throw my opinions in here later, but I’d love to hear what you all think. Remember, the new season of That’s The Question is tonight at 9PM ET on GSN.

Meh.
I know it’s the first show, but just meh.
Goen was a little wooden, the contestants were as smart as the proverbial box of rocks, and the spinning letter ticker board added absolutely nothing for me.
I actually missed the Question Voice, and the way the first 20 episodes started and ended was a nice difference.
This version has a long way to go.

I was completely oblivious to the entire first season somehow. This game is practically right up my alley, too. I love Hangman-type games and word scrambles.
One thing I would change is the font and size of the word scrambles. I have to squint a lot, and many of the letters are too similar looking. Gave me a bit of a headache to try and play along.

Change the font size a little and color combos to more high contrasting ones. Other than that i have no problems.
Or at least change the weard sound effects.

I found the questions have been dumbed down since season 1 and some questions are shorter making it tougher for a player who’s far behind to catch up. I found the set was nice but many elements were out of palce such as the marquee along the top and bottom other wise it’s fine, but not great.

They dumbed down the content incredibly. From “Tom Sawyer” (the worst book in the world) to BFF.

Actually, this was rather good, except that the letters are VERY difficult to read because of the strange curvular font used. Solving the puzzle should be worth more bonus points than 5 or 10, it’s basically a free question’s worth of points.
Apart from that, contestants are real and intelligent, and the final prize of $5000 is nothing to sneeze at. Goen is really good here.

$5,000??? It should be laughed at, at least until Temptation and Crosswords showed us CHEAP! is back in vogue!
