“Temptation” Host Named: Rossi Morreale

Any idea who this dude is? I’m stumped. The host of “Temptation”, the updated version of “Sale of the Century”, is Rossi Morreale. According to B&C, he was named one of People’s Magazine’s 50 sexiest men alive, he played college football, he’s done minor hosting work for TBS, Spike, G4, and ESPN, and that’s about it. Wish I could help you out more.

Me? I still think Mark Walberg could have been a terrific host, but we’ll have to see how he does.

I remember Morreale from when he hosted a show on G4 called “Sweat.” He was an annoying host on that show, and I’m sure he’ll be annoying on this show.

  • Tyrone Allen says:

He’s got a website if you wish to find out more about him…

    http://www.rossimorreale.com/

Yeah, I’ve never heard of him either. *shrug*

  • Measles! says:

Welp, leave it to these guys to f*** it up. I’ve seen Rossi once, and I wish I didn’t. You’d rather listen to your own infant child puking to death than watch him…

    That’s disgusting, I apologize.

Evidently he was part of the second season of “Temptation Island.”

“Get it? He was on ‘Temptation Island,’ so naturally he’d do great hosting a show called ‘Temptation’! IT CAN’T FAIL!!”

Sadly, I can easily envision that as the sum of Fremantle’s logic in making this decision.

  • Scott says:

Where is Jim Perry when you need him…

  • Jay Lewis says:

Rossi was host of the final 2 seasons of “Junkyard Mega Wars” (including a 3-hour special).

He was loud, obnoxious and all-around unpleasant to watch. I have no idea what they’re thinking at Fremantle but they blew it with this pick.

  • Mike says:

I’ll give him a chance. I’ve never seen “Junkyard Mega Wars”, but maybe he was just loud and obnoxious because that was what the show called for. Then again, this *is* Fremantle we’re talking about.

Ok everyone, did any of you actually read his bio, he has done quite a bit thus far in terms of hosting and entertainment, and he seems like good guy on the surface that can hold an audience. His bio also says he is a “A Host with no bounds.” If that really is true, then he will fine-tune and adjust accordingly for a game show like this . I think we all will still watch Temptation and give this guy an honest shot. Hey, we were all pessimistic about Howie Mandell, look how that turned out. The same hold true for other first-time game show hosts throughout the years (Betty White won a friggin Daytime Emmy for cripes sake!). You get the idea. So let’s not be knee-jerk about this, we’ve got several months to go before one of the best new syndicated games in the U.S. comes debuts. Let’s anticipate, and not deviate. (hehe)

  • Aaron says:

I agree with IntelligentFan777 here. I just watched the demo reel on his site, and it seems that he can hop it up or tone it down as the show calls for. I think he will know what Tempation calls for and act accordingly.

  • Mike says:

Also keep in mind that another former “Junkyard Wars” host, George Gray, initially wasn’t too well-liked by the game show fan community (especially because of his work on “Extreme Gong”), and a lot of people groaned when he was selected as the host of syndicated “Weakest Link”. But he ended up winning a lot of people over.

  • captpairs1 says:

If they’re going to raid failed G4 hosts for their selection. Sweat’s best host was a guy named Bill Sindelar. A Carson Daly type with AN ACTUAL PERSONALITY.

At Ross Morreale’s website, he’s ONLY hosting the PILOT to a “Freemantle show.” So, he may not be the heir apperant yet. Personally, I’d like to see Marc Summers or Jeff Probst take Temptations.

  • LostCluster says:

Let’s not forget that Mark Wahlberg already has a show running right now, Antiques Roadshow on PBS. Probst is already booked doing two seasons of Survivor a year, and Summers is a producer who doesn’t need to appear on all his own shows.

  • Adan says:

Couldn’t they find a host with more decency? Temptation will be gone if he is hired. Any idea on how I could suggest a different host?

  • Joe Mello says:

I’d show you how you could make a suggestion, but you probably wouldn’t like it.

I’m so glad we’re ready to accept new blood into the game show world. >_>

Rossi Morreale?! A guy who used to do Temptation Island and a few show on G4 is hosting a well respected international format?! I would rather be pessimistic about this choice because I’ve seen his demo clip and I highly doubt that he will be decent on this show. Me, I would rather have chosed Todd Newton for the hosting job and paired him with Brooke Burke.

  • Woodie B says:

Or my favorite Brooke…Brooke Burns. She was such a hottie on Dog Eat Dog.

  • shelly says:

The only thing I’ve seen Rossi host is ‘Instant Beauty Pageant’ for the Style Network, and I thought he was alright on that. Give the fella a chance.

  • scott says:

does temptations have a us web site yet/

  • Lance says:

I have actually known Rossi since he was born and was his personal trainer while he attended college, therefore I can tell you from experience he can hold his own in the arenas presented to him. He annoyed the heck out of me at times yet he worked as hard or harder than any premeir athlete I ever had, and at the end of the day I always found myself enjoying Rossi’s fresh approach and endearing persona; it’s contagiuos.

  • Nikolai says:

Anybody know of a website where you can apply to be on the show? I would sure like it.

  • Dan says:

I just discovered Temptations and found it mildly amusing. As you’d expect of a second-tier game show, it’s cheesy and produced on the cheap, but it’s quick paced and engaging. The questions revolve around pop culture and go from medium difficulty to embarrassingly easy. The host, Rossi, moves the action along with a goofy energy that’s a good fit for the simplicity of the show. I’ll catch more episodes but the concept is pretty dumbed down and I’m not sure it can hold my interest.
