Not sure which version of Temptation some of the posters are seeing. The one I'm seeing is probably the worst gamer show I've seen. Rossi's voice and articulation is utterly annoying and his mannerisms are very amateur. Something is definitely missing with him -- doesn't seem legitimate. Sorry, I'm sure he's a nice guy, though. The format is pathetic, as is the horible "seenontemptation.com" gimmick. Can't wait to buy an overpriced set of cheap K-Mart luggage with my Temptation dollars....What a waste of time. Why not bring back the real Sale of the Century??? I like the Tod Newton/Brooke Burke idea. Exactly what I had in mind. Temptation is the outlet mall of game shows.....

Marc- Totally agree. That's why I think i think that they have SOME of the stuff right, it just needs some tweaking to get it down pat. I just hope it won't take them seven years to get it right like Feud did.

And DJ, at least Comcast isn't blocking the channel that the show is running on.

I saw the last twenty minutes on my my network to affiliate the other day and I have to say that this is not what I was expecting for the US version. I watched reruns of the original US version of sale on USA back when they showed game shows and isaw clips of the Aussie version on you tube and they were excellent. I personally think that the producers sould be forced to watch every single episode of the aussie version to get a sense of a true game show is like. I agree with all of you that the producers of the US version should learn from the producers of the Aussie version, maybe the show will make it to season two.

When I applied for the show, they kept emphasizing shopping stories and other shopping related stuff and I was confused to why. I guess it makes sense now. The only reason why I am not on the show is because I had to move back to Chicago during tapings. It's a shame.

I do wish the show was more like the Australian version. I thought it was more fun and challenging. The numerous speed rounds and the temptation vault was just so much better. I am not a big fan of knock off (or its description - knock off designer bags - c'mon). I like the other fame game more as well.

I had set such high expectations for this game, but it kind of makes me sad to see it how it is. I wonder how the new end game will play out since the big money Australian version is out. Maybe not being on the show sounds good now.

I caught a glimpse of the 'Idol Preview' online, and I can see why there's a lot of concern about the show's 'integrity,' if you will. I don't think we'll know how good (or bad) the show is until we've seen the civilian episodes. To those who have remarked about the show's slow pace based upon the celebrities, consider how many clues go unrevealed in 'Celebrity Jeopardy!' shows - sometimes nearly half of them! That's not to say that this show will be great with non-celebs, because I think they've messed with the format too much by taking out the standard on-the-buzzers questions in favor of mini-games, but I think pacing may be the biggest change we see come Monday. I think we'll have to just wait and see.

Ben, if I may go slightly off-topic, I think the current U.S. version of "Family Feud" is pretty good. After a couple years of one-strike Triple rounds, it's returned to the classic format we all know and love, and John O'Hurley is, for my money, almost as good a host as Richard Dawson was.

Now, back to "Temptation." Someone ought to send the producers a CD-ROM or DVD with a couple episodes of the Aussie version, have them watch it, and see if they like it better than what they've produced. I certainly do.

I'm jealous of both those who like and don't like it...looks us game show fans in the Johnstown/Altoona market in Pennsylvania won't be getting either new shows. We must be content with our 65 court shows and Phil McGraw.

Women and gay men? No wonder I didn't even get an email reply when I sent an email to try out for the show.

A great reason to not watch.

Actually they have been exclusively casting for women and gay men. They've occasionally gone for guys, but it's been mainly a search for women and gay men.

Josh- No. There will be males, but likely there will be more women than men on this show as once again, it's geared for a predominantly female audience.

I don't think anyone else noted this, but during the Idol Edition of "Temptation", Rossi semi-frequently noted all three contestants as "ladies." Then seeing the previews for the daytime version makes me believe the following is true:

Are all three contestants ALWAYS going to be female?

There would've been a reason that Rossi mentioned Justin Guarini as a "lady" when reading from the teleprompter (presumably), except for the fact that there's already a 9% chance he may be one already...that's not the point. They could've easily recycled the teleprompter cues from an actual taping or dress rehearsal and used them with the Idol Edition taping...

The previews and behind-the-scenes stuff didn't show a male contestant at all, given the media I've personally seen myself.

So, can anyone prove me right or wrong on this issue before the show premieres in Daytime?

I agree with Tim. This show is too heavily dumbed down (all pop culture questions, did we really need that?) and there's no huge jackpot as there was on the original show. By the way, the original show had three fame games. We don't need more pop culture quizzes, it's time to start rewarding real information.

Well, this definately will get better. However, the true question is will I turn to my low-power Fox afflilate to catch this at 12:30 p.m. or catch the second episode of Crosswords at 12:30 on my ABC station.
