Team Air Force Wins $210,000 on “Million Dollar Mind Game”
ABC’s incredibly good Million Dollar Mind Game may be tough for one individual person, but get a group of six smart and determined people and you can reason out the tricky logic puzzles to win huge money. It happened again this past weekend as a team of six Air Force members circled the table to $210,000 to share between them. So far they are the highest winners on the series and have the second best record of right answers.
For $210,000; the question host Vernon Kay posed was, “In the 1990s, a revolutionary leader proudly claimed that he’d gotten a medal from the World Health Organization for something he stopped doing nine years earlier, which was what?” Down to the wire the team reasoned out the correct answer and unanimously agreed to take home their $35,000 a piece. Do you know the answer? Watch the episode to find out.
Did you miss the episode and want to see it? Check it out here. What did you think of the episode? The show keeps getting better and better. Vernon Kay’s progress at this show from the first taped (the $600,000 loss) to now is huge. He’s a great talent regardless but he’s fantastic now. The team was likable and great. Very exciting episode. As we’ve said each week, we really hope the show can live on in some way.

Love this show. Seems to be gaining a bit of a cult following, so hopefully someone else will be pick it up.
However, I have to say that I’ve enjoyed the more stoic Vernon Kay of the first couple of episodes than the excitable Vernon Kay of this past episode. No yelling in tuxedos, please.
I think the best thing Vernon does is when he leads the contestants to the correct answer after they’ve given an incorrect answer, and like Dan says — the worst thing is when he yells to try to generate some excitement.
I’m really happy ABC decided to share this show, even if it’s not in a great timeslot. Just like the game is best played with more people, I found this week that it’s more fun to watch in a group: usually just one person will make the leap and get the answer before everyone else.
I might have to start playing with a pad and pencil at home. There were a couple of times where the abridged version of the question left out some important clues of the original and I couldn’t recall them.
The final question asked who the leader was, not what the leader did or stopped doing that won him a medal.
I personally like the music and sound effects used in Million Dollar Mind Game.
Too many game shows these days don’t focus on the audio elements of the show. :(
This show is very exciting, and it really engages the audience at home. ABC should promote this show a little more and maybe pick it back up with a better time slot next season. Even if the should doesn’t continue, I want to buy the board game, it should be a hoot at parties.
I’ve translated several sample questions from the Russian version if anybody can be interested (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/What%3F_Where%3F_When%3F#Blitz_questions).
