Now let's see if this posts or if I get a Word Press error...

Anyway...I think David has a good idea. Why not try this idea out on the syndie version just to be different? Give the set a speaker phone and have a voice scrambler ready. If you even need one of those.

I think the personality from the NBC blog could work. I find the narcissistic, egotistical version of the Banker amusing to read.

Please don't steal our offer pattern though. It's unpredictable to the point of almost ruining the game.

Trump won't have controlled the offers... as far as I'm aware, your offers are from the Dutch formula, with a certain degree of player-specific variation. Quite honestly, I think that's the way to go.

I've always thought they could do that for the syndicated version to help differentiate it from primetime...but it's gotta be sarcastic, yet not flat out evil (grudgingly congratulations if the contestant wins a big amount-but in a "I blew it"-sort of way instead of a "the contestant won"-sort of way...

I want to know why they changed some of the music. It was just fine before, and now it's terrible.

The banker on speakerphone? "Hello angels." "Hi, Charlie!"

I like the banker on speaker phone, But maybe a disguised voice like a speak and spell or something like that. I've seen clips of the uk version where noel has put the phone to his mic so we can ehar the banker's evil laugh. I've also seen a bit of Vas o No Vas where another model (I'm assuming she's playing the role of the banker or the banker's assistant since she's wearing a tie and vest) presents suitcase with the money inside and the banker announces the offer herself. Strangely, the banker still calls the host.

Bottom line maybe they could use some combination of these.

Speaking of Trump's stint as the banker I thought he lacked the cruelty of the banker someone who's known for being meaner could have played the part better like say Simon Cowell or Anne Robinson (but I know NBC wouldn't get Simon cause he's Primarily with a rival network and not enough average people remember Anne.) and I agree it seemed like he wasn't coming up with the offers. If the banker had been in the booth with him (Trump or the banker playing the part of advisor) it might have worked. I also found his "little" surprise for the contestant was really predictable. Let's hope this isn't an omen for the season to come.

One small problem: even with Trump in the booth, at no point did I feel like he had any control over the offers. Just another stunt. To be honest, Howie may make up half of the things he claims the banker says on the spot.

I think any future mention of the show should refer to a Dog & Pony Show. Heck, you could even summarize the show that way:

Dog: The contestant who jumps around on stage like an excited dog wagging its tail
Pony: The gimmick they trot out onstage for the game (NFL, the Lime Green Show, an actual pony).
Show: What really happened (read: how dumb were the contestant's decisions to play on?)

I've got a better banker suggestion. Sometimes, if the banker requests to be on speaker phone, I would like the voice of the banker to be Robert Hirschboeck. He's the voice of Stauf from the 7th Guest and the 11th Hour.
