Sony Buys Production Company Embassy Row

A small news update here.  It was announced in TVWeek that Sony will be buying the production company Embassy Row, run by champion of the genre Michael Davies.  Embassy Row is behind shows like Chain Reaction, Power of 10, and others.  Michael’s been unbelievably helpful to me, and a tremendous supporter of the site, so congratulations to him and all at Embassy Row.

Power of 10 was a great show when I first saw it, and was a little heartbroken to find out about its cancellation in 2008. Today, however, after having still not recovered from Drew Carey’s boring announcing of the perfect bid in the showcase, I don’t think GSN should ever pick it up. I am sure that if GSN DID air Po10, it would be gone after just one airing, due to massive complaints.

Congratulations, Michael and Embassy Row team.

Honestly, I’m starting to think I understand what Davies is up to. Use daytime WWTBAM as a keep-alive while the Slumdog script sat until the right time comes for Regis willing to host the primetime show again.

Anybody remember why Michael Davies got upset at a production company on the original run of WWTBAM? Something about Studio 7…
