Should "Show Me the Money" fail, William Shatner could end up hosting "SMTM" at some
point in the future.

Actually Jack, the last one to try that was "Deal or No Deal" during its "Week Long Event" when it premiered...

This is a pretty good move. I guess this means once the original slate of episodes have aired, they will continue on with more new episodes?
Also, this just occurred to me but, wasn't the last game show to try an 8pm slot against American Idol was LMAD O3?

From what I read this morning, ABC wants to move "Lost" to 10PM because the shows that follow it always have bad ratings, and add its two hour comedy block ("According to Jim", et al. - groan) starting at 8PM.

This may turn out to be a smart move by the Alphabet Network in the long run. They're moving a show which isn't doing all that great ratings-wise and sticking it in a slot where more people would probably watch.

As for DoND, it has worked for NBC in the past and hopefully the show would continue to do well on Wednesdays.

Two words: Sacrificial Lamb. It probably moved because of the looming AI startup, and ABC didn't want to waste any of their midseason shows where they know they'll get crushed, so they decided to put a cheap show in the slot that might get a little audience...
