Sherri Shepherd to Host “Newlywed Game”; Now Casting, Begins November 1st

The rumors were true.  It has been announced that The View panelist Sherri Shepherd is the new host of GSN’s hit relationship show The Newlywed Game.  Sherri will take over for Carnie Wilson who left the show, and shortly after it was announced she filed a lawsuit against the network.  Production of the newest season will move back to its original home in New York City.  Season one taped there before moving to Los Angeles for the next two.  The new season of The Newlywed Game will debut November 1st.

The show is now casting as well.  The only real stipulation is you have to be married for less than two years.  If that’s you, you can be on the show and play for a second honeymoon.  To apply, email CastingNewlyweds@gmail.com (by clicking here) and include a recent photo, date you were married, phone number, your email address, and then your city and state.  After you email this to them, you’ll get an application and hopefully you’ll get on the show.

  • OMG! I can believe it She the first African-American female Game Show Host! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Brad D. says:

She’s not the first (others have before her such as Kim Coles, & Gina St. Scot).

      • DeVares says:

Actually, if I’m not mistaken, Karyn Bryant was the first African American game show host when she hosted VH1′s Name That Video back in 2002.

    • Tataki says:

      A. Nope. There was at least the host of “Pay it Off” and probably more.
      B. What? That’s nearly unreadable.

  • David says:

Sherri should do well here; I’m actually encouraged by this hire. Although, sadly, my Whinie jokes now have to be retired lol! Oh well, it’s worth it to have a new hostess.

  • Owen says:

They should had brought Bob Eubanks back That is HIS baby,I do not watch “The View” so I don’t know about Sherry Sheppard that well .She is the 3rd African-American game show host currently airing

  • Kevin $ says:

I have always liked Sherri! She’s really fun and personable…and hasn’t been married too long herself, I think. Definitely will work! :) I don’t know if she’ll be as forward as Carnie was sometimes, but she’ll be very good I think. This also might open her up for more show opportunities. Who knows? Good choice, I say. As usual, we’ll just have to see when it occurs!

  • James Greek says:

I hope she stays on The View. It will benefit the show greatly. I hope GSN encourages her to stay on The View. They should see it as a means to promote their show and network.

    • Reezy says:

The show was moved to home to NY, so Sherri can continue do THE VIEW, in the same fashion that Family Feud moved to Orlando to accomodate Steve Harvey

  • Lee Hubbard says:

Are they keeping the same set that they used with Carnie?

  • Patrick Gilchriest says:

Wow…GREAT choice and great move on GSN’s part. I love Sherri Shepherd and think she is the PERFECT choice to host this show! Bravo…can’t wait to see it! :)

  • peggy french says:
