“Secret Fortune”, “Family Game Night” and More Now Casting

A few game shows are casting and looking for audience members.  There’s something for people on either side of America so anyone can get involved.

*BBC’s hit quiz show Secret Fortune is making its way to America.  CBS optioned the format some time ago and they are now getting ready for a pilot.  The format appears to be what we saw in the British version.  A team of two answers stands before 24 checks with various amounts and attempts to answer questions correct.  Right answers knock low values out.  If the contestant can answer all questions correctly, or maybe just get lucky, they can win life changing cash.  It was a fun show in England and we’re glad to see it coming here.

Again, the pilot is now casting.  They are looking for teams of two to compete for the CBS pilot.  They will be taping on Saturday, July 23rd so you have a lot of time to get prepared.  Interested in playing?  Click here to get ahold of casting producers.  If you want to get used to the British version and know what you’re getting yourself into, click here.

Family Game Night

*The Hub’s Family Game Night is coming back for a second season.  The show sees two teams of families compete against each other in larger-than-life versions of popular Hasbro board games includes Cranium, Bop-It, Connect 4, and others.  Family Game Night is looking for families of four, with children between the ages of 9 and 15, to play.  Click here to learn more and sign up.  Six new games are being added this season so it should be fun.  The crew behind the show is as good as it gets.  There are few people who put together better game shows than Bob Boden and his group so it’s worth it.

*We’re getting close to the new season of Family Feud.  The show, which shifted from Los Angeles to Orlando to accommodate new popular host Steve Harvey, will be moving to Atlanta for its 13th season.  Feud begins July 7th.  If you live in or near Atlanta and have always wanted to see a game show tape, this is your chance.  Click here to get ready for tickets and be one of the first to see the show.  I’ve been on set several times and there are few more enjoyable shows to see in person.  To pick up on a comment from the previous casting announcement, the crew behind Feud is equally great so I promise you’ll have a great time.

Gosh. Pay It Off was one of the first game shows to tape in Atlanta, and now the Family Feud is doing the same. I just hope it can still attract the same audience it had been getting. If the ratings are not good enough in the top 2 major markets and is only good for mid-west markets, they may consider dropping Steve and replacing him with a California-based host.

Do you remember the short-lived ESPN show Dream League? How about Matches n’ mates they both taped in ATL.

Remember, CBS taped a pilot for The Cube and still hasn’t produced a full-blown series of it. Just because they’re taping a pilot for Secret Fortune doesn’t mean it will eventually make it to air either. All I’m saying is don’t hold your breath…

Question, Alex — whatever happened to “Pictureka!”, which was also on the Hub? I’ve been interested to see what news there was about it, but time and again it seemed to be ignored.

Any word on who’s hosting the “Secret Fortune” pilot? Will they bring in Nick Knowles, or is he too occupied with Who Dares Wins at the moment?
