Richard Goggin has just been named the $5,000 winner of the Boston area “National Vocabulary Championship” held by GSN. The game was done at the ballroom at the Northeastern University Curry Student Center, with Goggin defeating 74 other contestants to take the $5,000 and the chance at $40,000 against 49 other students in New York City. The event was looked over by such people as the Boston School Superintendent Michael Contompasis, Northeastern School of Education Acting Dean and Director Thomas Gilbert, and City Councilman John Tobin. Richard Goggin won the $5,000 by completing the speedround of ten questions in 1:17.
