Return of the Living Dead Marathon: “Idiot Quest”

I’ve wanted to post this one for a while and finally found a way how.  I’m a big music fan.  Back in the day before the whole pop explosion with Britney Spears and people like that, MTV was actually semi-tolerable.  I think it’s best to forget about the network now.  So when I hear MTV is going to do another game show, my expectations are already unbelievably low.  I didn’t think they could make something which went below that, and they did.  ”Enjoy” Idiot Quest.  It’s so bad it’s spooky!

    Brain. Leaking. Out. Ear.

    Ouch.

  • Julia says:

Um…Wow…and I thought the Miss USA pageant had some stupid answers….

A show that rewards you for being stupid…um…DonD Primetime?

And this was the same network that had Singled Out and Remote Control…hrm…

  • What Would Grape Ape Do? says:

I was waiting for the Energizer bunny to go through the set.

  • Brandon says:

This same host (comedian Ryan Stout) did the most recent pilot for a revivial of Singled Out as well (didn’t get picked up).

  • devares says:

Idiot Quest……good name for it. Good part, it didn’t get picked up (there is a G-d).

  • Scooter says:

I wonder if this is where Street Smarts came about.

  • LostCluster says:

If I recall correctly, this is from an April Fools Day in the 90s when it fell on a Monday, so MTV put out a week’s worth of schedules saying they were lauching a new lineup, and all the shows were jokes such as this one. They had no serious intention of making this a series.

  • Ryan says:

Sarah & Ty got three questions each. Holly got two…no chance to even try and catch up.

    Boy, did that suck.

  • Brad D. says:

I hope you are right LostCluster because there’s so many flaws in this show that I don’t even know where to begin lol.

  • Kaos says:

Julia, you think the Miss USA pageant had stupid answers?

How about The $1.98 Beauty Pageant?

I so wanted to kick each of those “contestants’” asses on there. If I wanted to see idiots get airtime on TV, I wouldn’t even watch DoND, I’d tune to NBC in the middle of the week at about 11:30 EST. A little known guy called Jay Leno hosts a show called Jaywalking where this show obviously got its inspiration.

The host was semi-tolerable though, he did make fun of the bums much in the same manner as Jay would. If anything, that was its only saving grace.

Now if you excuse me, I must refill my gray matter container by playing a game of 1vs100 and sticking my head in a Calculus book. This might take awhile…
