The lifeline can be obtained by reaching the $25,000 level, and the contestant can use their banked time to give them a longer length of thinking time. And as usual, if there unused time on the question where the banked time lifeline is used, that is still added to the time bank for the million dollar question as well. But I'd sure rather have a phone a friend than the so-called "expert," unless it's Ken Jennings or Bill Nye. And why do you consider it "cheating" if a friend finds it on the Internet. The questions have become so obscure, there is little danger of the show giving $1M to anyone most of the time, but I guess if they giveth they can taketh away. I will still watch!
