The ratings have been updated to include the newest episode of Power of 10, Don’t Forget the Lyrics!, and the accidentally forgotten Monday hour-long edition of The Singing Bee. I really worry for Power of 10. According to our friend Marc Berman, CBS and Embassy Row’s amazing new game show lost 1.4 million viewers last night and lost 26% of the 18-49 demo from Tuesday’s preview episode. If the show keeps losing people, will CBS support a show that will most likely give away a gigantic sum of money every few weeks? Of course last night it was proven that it’s not exactly easy to win. It’ll take a few more episodes to see. CBS, don’t give up on this like NBC did with 1 VS 100 (or seems to have given up). You have a top-notch show on your hands. It needs time and care. It’s depressing when incredible shows like 1 VS 100 and Power of 10 aren’t as popular as the singing shows which I’ve just completely grown sick of.

On the bright side, Power of 10 still won its time slot on Wednesday, and the “share” for the program might have been similar to Tuesday’s episode, if there was a decline in total TV audience for Wednesday vs. Tuesday night.
The issue with POT right now is, they’ve named the host of the show to be host of their signature network game show, which is on 5 days a week. Most likely Drew isn’t going to be on TPIR and another show, he’ll focus on TPIR. So, that means they would need to find a new host for POT anyway (although Drew is doing a good job, I only saw the 2nd episode), and if the ratings are not good enough to justify that, it will probably slip aside.
As far as the $10,000,000…. remember, the $10,000,000 is won by guessing the EXACT percentage to the $1,000,000 question, so, it’s basically a 10% lottery chance, after getting the right percentage on the million dollar question to begin with.
I see a lot of people thinking they have the guts to risk $90,000 to win $900,000, given they have a margin of error of +/- 5% in guessing the poll. I don’t know how many people are going to risk $900,000 to win $9,000,000 on what is basically picking a number out of a hat with 1 in 10 odds. Of course, we’ve seen almost as silly decisions based on greed on DOND, so, I guess never say never.

truth be told, i didn’t even know there was a wednesday night episode until i saw the commercials on tuesday night… i’m sure a lot of people were expecting one premier episode for the week and that would be that, so they didn’t even know there was an episode 2. i’m sure ratings will be back up next week, now that we know when the next episode is.
…which now makes me wonder… i didn’t miss an episode tonight, did i?

Speaking of “1 vs. 100,” I went on Bob Saget’s official website today and he said on his blog that he was about to tape new episodes of the show (although the post was made last month).

There was a casting notice for 1 vs. 100 on NBC’s website last month.

To be honest, I did miss half of Wednesday’s Power of 10. Maybe it was because I forgot, or there wasn’t any promo after Power of 10 on Tuesday that said “Watch it on its normal slot Wednesdays at 8″.
But I am so glad, we actually have a contestant win $1,000,000 on any Million Dollar Game Show.
Deal or No Deal = No Millionaire
1 vs 100 = No Millionaire
Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader? = No Millionaire
Don’t Forget The Lyrics = No Millionaire
Show Me The Money = No Millionaire
Power of 10 = MILLIONAIRE FIRST DAY.

Jordan, I was thinking exactly that. It’s quite ironic that the first seven-figure win of the DoND era was very nearly on syndie Millionaire, which would have been freaking hilarious.
It’s very, very sad that Fifth Grader’s not produced a millionaire though. Well, that and a huge relief on some level, seeing as these guys and gals probably don’t deserve the chance…
