I think that Crosswords will be gone soon for 2 reasons:
1) The show is too repetitive. Repetitive. Repetitive.
2) Ty Treadway has come down with a case of DLS (Dylan Lane Syndrome). He needs to learn how to AD-LIB, and for that matter, so does Dylan.

Also, quiznation/PlayMania/whatever the heck it's called now is not going to last long. The show follows the exact same format:

1)Easy game (Missing Link/the Venn diagram one/Bumper Stumper)
2)Game that takes up an hour and 50 minutes that will go to about $2K (Crossword, Pixeled Pic)
3)Easy game to close the show

Also, they could take callers like 100 Winners did, i.e. no f*cking around with clocks and timers and drama.

The reason DOND is all gimmicks is because the game is too simple. It's always the same pattern. Pick a case, pick a case, listen to Howie chat with the dealer, get the banker's offer, "Deal or No Deal?" etc. The game gets boring. So, they have to have gimmicks just to keep the viewer's attention.

"Singing Bee"'s $50,000 bonus game is boring too. It has no risks. If you get 3 strikes, you still get to keep what you've won.

Temptation is nothing like the original SOTC. Nothing at all.

Crosswords is all right.

Intelligentfan777 , I see what you're saying, I apologize for my earlier post here. I am just attempting to call the shots before things happen (a weird skill with me and Television).

I agree, we must wait for the whole season, before we should jump to conclusions (like what I did).

Boy oh Boy are we jumping to conclusions early. *sigh*

You know, an NFL season is never decided in just one week. People don't abandon any sports team after one game, and last time I checked, you don't lose hope on an invention selling if you only have one store to carry it at first.

You guys are being too reactionary, IT'S ONLY THE FIRST WEEK!

Game shows as a whole still get good or even great ratings in many areas. Some have yet to debut, and others still have a whole season ahead. Let's just see what happens, okay?

What can you expect? DOND is now Gimmicks.

The Sicilian lady who wants to go back New York, obviously they will try and bring NY to the DOND set.

---

Temptation and Crosswords are understandable - weird time slots / bad show / etc.

---

As for Power of 10, I think it is the only game show that still manages to get "decent" and never-changing ratings. Best of all, they don't attempt to have gimmicks on the show, as the questions are awkward enough.

---

I smell Death of the Following Shows By the End of Spring:
*Singing Bee
*Don't Forget the Lyrics
*Deal or No Deal (Primetime)
*Crosswords
*Temptation
*That's the Question
*"Playmania" (or whats left of it anyway)
and
*Are you smarter than a 5th grader? (We Get It, 5th Graders who have 10th grade textbooks are Smart)

1 vs 100 will still be a hit, if they manage to find a Million Dollar Winner by the end of the season, which will be quite a challenge.

The only returns I will see is Power of 10 and the usual Syndicated Shows (Millionaire,Feud,Wheel,Jeopardy)

===

The only screwball i see in the world of game shows (World Series is Next Month, excuse the baseball metaphor) is National Bingo Night.

$50,000 is a "Singing Bee Jackpot" and a "Fear Factor Win" which was also half the grand prize on GSN's Russian Roulette a while back. Very low prize fund, $250,000 or even $100,000 would be great prizes to give away for a win (and something tells me that's what "Bingo Night" is going to do to attract viewers)

I have no ideas or what to expect on "American Gladiators" i just expect to see a Nintendo Wii Game where you can use the WiiMote like the Giant Q-Tip on the Show.
