Another quick ratings update for today. Deal or No Deal made a major rebound on last night’s episode, so it seems safe for now. Also, we have Singing Bee’s rating finally, and it’s starting to slip, but that doesn’t bug me at all. I respect the show for what it is. It’s a nice little half hour show. However, I just cannot stand the music so I’m alienated. It’s a bit of a problem the singing shows have. If you don’t like or know popular music, you’re screwed. Once they start playing Pixies or Garbage, come and get ahold of me.

I’m actually glad that “Singing Bee” is starting to slip. I wish NBC would just cancel “Bee” and reduce “The Biggest Loser” to an hour (who the hell wants to watch fatties attempt to exercise and whine about their weight for 90 minutes anyway?) and bring back “1 vs. 100.”

What’s wrong with the 2nd season of Bee? Is this what DED did to spice things up by the time the 2nd season is over? Now what is Bee doing, acting like a daytime game show?

The “rebound” for the Wednesday DOND isn’t a surprise…. the premiere week of DOND went up against a special showing of Dancing with the Stars, so, that knocked 2-3 million off what would usually watch.

I’m not, and that’s why I can’t stand the show. The music, to me, absolutely sucks. Music is the game and I just can’t stand listening to tone deaf people sing to awful pop songs.

Just some thoughts on the recent ratings (all of these are based on the overnights FYI):
The last two weeks of Kid Nation:
4.6 and 4.3
Last two weeks of Deal or No Deal:
7.1 and 8.0
Given that, I think Kid Nation doesn’t last long, and I’m guessing they’ve made the episodes so that they could “compress” them if need be to burn them off quicker, or, they can ship it off to Saturday nights to die off.
In anycase, that leaves what will CBS do with the time slot. I would be against putting two game shows in the same timeslot. POT isn’t a “timeslot killer” like Millionaire in its day that would get dropped in vs. 21 or Greed.
The better option I think would be to put POT on Monday nights, where other than Dancing With the Stars, there isn’t much competition, it would probably come in 2nd. They could move How I Met Your Mother & Big Band Theory to Wednesday nights at 8 then, where it might actually do a bit better. Or better yet, move HIMYM to after Two and a Half men, where it might get some more well deserved viewership, and stick Rules of Engagement and Big Bang on Wednesday.
