Ratings Report: Only “Family Feud” Grows

The continuing power of Family Feud has been proven week in and week out over the course of the last two seasons.  Whenever a show performs a host change, if we see an uptick in ratings we typically wait for the inevitable downfall because curiosity has to wear off eventually.  Feud seems to be the exception to the rule and, unlike nearly anything I’ve seen before, just keeps getting bigger.  The most recent figures have Family Feud at a 3.2 rating, up 3% and tied with its high point.  It keeps getting more publicity the more it keeps with the show’s saving grace, Steve Harvey, and with his upcoming talk show and the extra attention he’ll receive from that, could we see Feud actually eclipse a 4.0 rating?

The rest of the syndicated shows either stayed level or went down, but it was pretty steady for everyone regardless.  Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! both stuck at 7.6 and 6.2, respectively.  Who Wants to be a Millionaire is the only show which shrank, but it was only by 4% to a 2.5, so they aren’t fretting that badly.  They just saw a big win and this week is Double Money week, so we’ll see if that can add anything to their numbers.

This run of the Feud is now the third longest running syndicated game show of all time behind WOF and J!. It’s also renewed until 2015 which will give at least 16 seasons, which is the combined length of Feud’s original Dawson and 1988-95 Combs/Dawson runs.

When I was young, the whole family could watch Feud…some things went over my head, but all could watch.

Shame is I can’t do that now…it’s not a family friendly show anymore.

If Feud’s ratings continue to grow in the next few years, Wheel, and Jeopardy! better watch out for them.

How funny would it be if FF knocked WOF out of the top spot, like WOF did to FF almost 30 years ago?

I am enjoying Family Feud but they just need to change stuff around.

The sexual questions get old quick
Using a new theme or reviving it heck i settle for the Anderson theme in full.
    Bringing back family intros
And adding a variety of questions
    Updating the Prize Money

I was watching Family Fortunes a few days ago and Vernon toned it down hes not annoying like he used to be and their show is so much better polished then ours even the questions are better .
