Ratings for ABC’s “Million Dollar Mind Game”
We’ve extensively gone over the massive, almost unheard of, uphill battle ABC’s Million Dollar Mind Game has. It’s airing Sundays at 4:00PM ET, opposite NFL games, and it’s gotten practically no promotion or attention except online so it’s just not looking good. However, that’s not stopping us from enjoying the show. We’ve got a lot of features on it the next few weeks so stay tuned. We’ve been provided the ratings for the series debut, and to be honest it’s just what we expected.
Here is the list of ratings, showing the rating, audience share, and market. These are for October 23rd, 2011.
NY: 0.5/1
LA: 0.4/1
CHI: 0.2/0
PHI: 1.0/2
DAL: 0.2/0
SF/OAK: 0.3/1
BOS: 1.0/2
DC: 0.3/1
ATL: 0.8/1
HOU: 0.8/1
And, to be honest, if anyone expected it to do much better they were a bit crazy. It had little shot from the gate. It should have given a chance in primetime since even passers-by have given it a good review, but ABC decided not to. Enjoy it for the next few weeks while you have it at least. Maybe if it gets a small but loyal following someone else will take a look. Bingo America, The Rich List, The Moment of Truth, and Hole in the Wall all came back.

I wish it was up online.

Nice to see something get taped and aired; still waiting for pilots for “The Cube” (NPH), “The Whoe 19 Yards” (Chris Hardwick), and “Who’s Still Standing” (Ben Bailey) to see the light of day…
Who’s Still Standing will air during the week of Christmas, and NBC plans on running it through January.
Even if this is only ever a cult hit – could GSN do this with lower stakes? Having an unabashedly “hardcore” question difficulty works fine on a specialist cable channel, in a way it probably doesn’t on one of the major networks.
OMG! This show is FASCINATING! I REALLY hope another network picks this up! This, IMO, is a gem. So, so good!
Isn’t that an interesting pattern? I’m not surprised that the show is doing the best (or perhaps the least badly!) in Boston and Philly. But there’s no explanation for it doing better in Houston than in Dallas/Fort Worth, or that it is doing almost as well in Atlanta as in Philly.
UK fans that have seen this seem to like it. It might be a good fit for the BBC.
I don’t think it would be a good fit for GSN.. Perhaps Bravo??
No explanation?
Cowboys played at 3 Central while Houston had the noon game and was done in time for Million Dollar mind game.
Meanwhile, the Eagles had a bye week and didn’t play, which might explain less eyes tuned to football.
There’s your answer.
Shows you just how much I follow (American) Football.
To me, football–our American version or the Canadian version–is twenty-two grown men running into one another!
Great premise. Works with brainy geeks who are used to being in a think tank, but do it with karate students and it’s a BUST!! Get the think tank ppl on!!
