R.I.P. Soupy Sales: 1926-2009
We lost a game show personality on Thursday. Actor, personality, and comic Soupy Sales passed away at the age of 83. There are most likely one of three things you may remember him from. Soupy had a very popular children’s show for some time called Lunch with Soupy Sales/The Soupy Sales Show. Reading about it on Wikipedia it seems like it was really popular and had some rather large celebrities on it. Read about it here if you’re interested. You may know him from his prank where he told children, in pure joke, to send money to him. When the kids actually did he donated it all to charity and explained it was a joke. But around these parts you probably know him best from his work in game shows.
Soupy Sales was a panelist on a lot of game shows in addition to being a host of Junior Almost Anything Goes, according to IMDB. Soupy was featured on shows such as What’s My Line, To Tell The Truth, Match Game, Hollywood Squares, and Pyramid. Here are some clips of Soupy in action to remember him by.

I remember Soupy as being a contestant on a failed TV version of Pictionary back in 1997-1998.
And that's about it.
Wow. Guess I'd better get out there and see some of his earlier works. ;_;
R.I.P., Soupy.
Hey, GSN: I didn't really think you'd do a tribute, but would it have killed you to put up an "RIP" card on the $100,000 Pyramid?
Apparently, GSN's "new regime" doesn't take kindly to tributes & whatnot. That's the nature of the beast I guess,
