“Price is Right” Sued Again

Seriously, how many times can a show be sued? This time, Michael Lerner, a former contestant, is suing the show because he fell down and hurt his ankle. This same thing has happened plenty of times before, all without incident. What makes a guy with a Barker-sized ego want to sue?

Oh wait, I think I answered my own question.

You totally answered your own question there. *nods*

You've gotta play hit games on any of the many fine game show blogs and websites – click here at the right and go online.

  • ChadMosher says:

I'm still waiting to see video of this come out.

  • Steve says:

People can sue for thything they want, but that doesn't make it right.

  • Pat says:

Tomorrow, a person from Jeopardy! will sue because they didn't know what to do in Final Jeopardy!, and then a person from Wheel of Fortune sues because they kept hitting Bankrupt and didn't win anything. C'mon, people fall all the time on that show, and they never sued. What is this world coming to?!

  • Oriental Fellow says:

Haw haw Neek Towdow you funny funny man!

  • BobHagh says:

"The Price Is Right" seems to be THE show to sue now! I remember a story when a man sued the show because he wasn't selected to be a contestant! Still, I guess falling is just clumsiness and shouldn't be a reason to blame the show! lol

  • Sawber says:

Time to crack out the "FAIL" logos again! Make one of a subpoena with a "Check Game" failed stamp on it. lmao

  • Craig says:

Is it any wonder we're a sue-happy nation these days? I hope this is another one of those frivilous lawsuits. Come on, we don't need THAT!

  • ScottNotSteve says:

Speaking as a lawyer, if CBS/Fremantle doesn't have a release for contestants to sign prior to their appearance, which would cover trips and falls, etc., I'd be very surprised.

  • Myke25 says:

It might depend on the circumstances of the fall. Did he trip over his own feet…or a camera cable?

  • insaneben says:

I was disappointed by the overall outcome of an episode a few weeks ago.
Does that mean I can sue for not being sufficiently entertained?

  • Craiggers says:

Well, using that logic, I could sue for being outbid by a dollar twice when I appeared on the show.
Though, I'm quite sure neither claim would fly in court.

  • Josh says:

And here, I always wanted to be on the show for 12 years now. I don't know if you heard about this or not but a man walked into a San Francisco law firm with a bomb, and he was upset because he wasn't on the show.

  • djcchs2004 says:

Get a grip, many contestants fall all of time.

  • Craig says:

Or better yet, losing a showcase by going OVER by $1! Now THAT would most certainly fall under the "frivilous" category.

  • Steven says:

    File under "Mega Wheelie"

someone for the love of all thats sacred cue the horns.

    Bom bom bombom waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah,

    Thank you

  • Sawber says:

Where's the clip on this incident?

  • Bryan says:

Hmmmm… I wonder what was going through this guy's head. Here's my guess:

"(Trips and falls over his shoelace) What the…! Are they trying to kill me? Do they know who I AM? They're going to pay!"

    Or something retarded like that.
