“Price is Right” Plans New Years “Best Prizes of 2009″ Stunt

THE PRICE IS RIGHTHave you seen a prize on The Price is Right and just fell in love with it?  Want to see it again and potentially have a chance of winning it if you can make it to Los Angeles?  Here’s your chance.  Price is holding a survey right now on its official site (and it’s getting quite a bit of attention which is awesome) where you can vote for your favorite prizes of 2009.  On the special New Years Eve show (no idea when it’s being run so don’t bother asking just yet) they’ll be giving away the most popular prizes which will most likely be cars and trips.  They’ve given away a ton of incredible cars and trips this year; some of the best I’ve ever seen.

Click here to vote for what you want to see. It’s your chance to interact with the show and plan what’s going to happen so I’d get to it if I were you.  I’ve been a fan of The Price is Right‘s recent stunts and this is no exception.  That Halloween and April Fool’s shows are fantastic, and the couples shows came off better than I could have expected.  This level of viewer interactivity is also great and something many Price fans have been clamoring for.  We may get to see some of the more expensive prizes given away if it is very popular so go ahead and vote as soon as you can.

If you want to say so here, has any prize or thing from The Price is Right in 2009 stuck in your head?  I have one for sure.  It takes a lot for me to drop my jaw at a prize and nearly mount my television in excitement.  Sorry, but I don’t get excited over floor clocks or dining room furniture and plates.  But when the show gave away a 1975 restored Corvette Stingray, I just couldn’t believe it.  By far the coolest prize the show has ever given away and one of the few things that actually made me want to break eligibility requirements and head to the studio to win it.  Or steal it.  I’m probably not above that.  Here’s the clip of it.

That's a great way to draw some new eyeballs and everything…

But, if I knew that my dream car cost exactly $24,583, with $125 for automatic transmission, $65 for power steering, and $9 for paint protectant, than could we possibly have an Exact Showcase Scandal, part 2?

  • BJ Wanlund says:

Yeah, I'll fully admit that was a cool prize.

My favorite prize of 2009 was that Emmys showcase that poor woman way underbid during the last show of S37.

  • I voted for the Dodgers prize package we saw in March. That was totally cool. I like to see new prizes on the show as long they don't get run into the ground like the "designer" items have been lately.

    "Stunt" is a good discription!

No one wants to win a 30 year old car. It might be nice to look at, but it's a 30 year old car! Let's see some real prizes.

  • Crash McCloud says:

    The older the better.

  • Craiggers says:

I think it might help if there was a listing with all of the prizes offered so far this year…or at least some.
It'll be kinda hard to remember the best from the best.

  • Todd says:

You kidding me? That would be THE coolest prize to win!!

  • MrQuiz says:

In a way, that "most popular prizes" concept isn't really new at all. If you ever saw the original "Beat The Clock" on GSN, for a few seasons, their final show prior to the new year would be a "best of…" show, featuring the most popular stunts of the past year, being given an "encore" of sorts.

Oh we claimed it… and love it! 80,000 original mile, all matching numbers, and a real head turner.
