A bit ago it was reported that Drew Carey wasn’t actually in the running to host The Price is Right as it was more or less an online rumor.  This came from the mouth of Drew Carey.  Apparently this is false.  CBS sources are saying that Carey is still in for the hosting job of The Price is Right, but he is asking for a bit more than CBS expected.  Negotiations are taking places.  Sources are telling us that the host of Whose Line is it Anyway? and star of The Drew Carey Show will nearly have the job handed to him if he does well on an audition tape and if his other game show, Power of 10, goes well.  Todd Newton is still in the running, as is Mark Steines who is supposedly the current favorite.  Russian Roulette host Mark Walberg is also being tossed around.

If I can’t have John O’Hurley, which I’m starting to think is a good thing, I’m pulling for Drew Carey then.  He’s proven to be a good, funny, personable host.  He’s terrific at improv and is different that Bob Barker, which is what The Price is Right will need.  I’m also pulling for Mark Walberg, but I feel his services would best be put on a different show.  I see Mark Walberg on a trivia or word show, maybe Wheel of Fortune or something like that, rather than Price.  However, Walberg is a terrific host and he would be very welcomed.
