“Price is Right” Holding Survey
Surveys are apparently all the rage these days. During today’s The Price is Right, I was told scrolling text at the bottom of the screen said they are holding a survey at the show’s CBS website which you can visit by clicking here. Taking a look at the survey, it seems like they are just trying to gauge people’s opinion of how the show is doing now. They are just about doing one of these a year it appears to see how fans are adjusting to the changes. It’s no secret the show’s been changing since Drew Carey took over three years ago, and it’s a safe idea just to check. The survey will ask you for opinions about the host, prizes, set, announcer, etc. Basically if it’s on the show, they want to know what you think.
And I’ve got a feeling this survey won’t really do much good. Why? Who do you think is going to do the survey mostly? Probably the Price is Right nerds who complain that a prehistoric music cue is not played for the appropriate game. It’s going to be the crowd who loves to bitch and moan that their deity-level producer and former host aren’t there any more on a nearly constant basis. So if you take it, I implore you to just be honest. They really don’t overwhelmingly care about the incredibly minute information a few seem to notice. They just want to know what you think of the show right now and if they are going in the right direction. Especially with people from here of all places, I expect only the best.

…Because you're Rich Fields' PR representative?
I took the survey, told my honest opinion on the show (and how to fix it); I don't really care about the music cues, so that wasn't discussed.
Oh, and expect to see fur coats make a comeback! :-p

I'm taking the survey, but once I finished describing myself demographically (income, occupation, age, etc.) I see a window saying that says this:
-
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80040e57'
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]String or binary data would be truncated.
/newsurveysystem/survey/DBLibrary.asp, line 755
-
I feel that it's an error, but any reason why this happened? Also, what would the next page say?

Either your demographic didn't fit what the survey wanted, or you selected "Rarely, If Never" when asked how often you watch the show. I've heard several reports on various sites that said "I selected "Rarely, If Never" and the survey basically ended".

Look at the end part…it says "error" right there. So, it's gotta be an error. If it was triggered by the "rarely" response, that means that the person who "programmed" the survey didn't program an understandable response to the "rarely" answer. They just made it so that (if that answer came out), the survey/program just looped out to the end.

All if these new announcers are driving me nuts with the word “right.” “You are the next contestant on “The Price is Riiiiiiiiggggggggttttttttttt????” WTH?
Have them to listen to Rod Roddy, or the following announcer after the great Rod Roddy passed away. Or even listen to Bob Barker when he made his entrance every day. “Welcome to THE PRICE IS RIGHT!” “Right” should be short! One guy is making it a long question!
Everything else is great. Drew is doing a great job, and I’m so glad he lost the weight! Awesome! The models are all great too. I like when they wear the same dresses.
It looks like cars, trucks, cash, and trips seem to be the most popular prizes. Ooh, also the women’s clothes, shoes, and acccessories. ALL women love those, and all men have a woman in their lives! (Even if it’s their mother, sister, or aunt!)
I’ve been watching for over 35 years. I’m home everyday, (sick) so I think I’m a pretty good judge!
Very sincerely,
