“Price is Right” and “Let’s Make A Deal” Celebrate Milestones in March
Both The Price is Right and Let’s Make A Deal will be having some great specials coming up in March. Two of which in particular are special. Let’s start with Let’s Make A Deal which is doing well in the ratings and seems to be getting better each day. The show, hosted by Wayne Brady, will be celebrating its 100th episode on Wednesday, March 3rd. That’s next week. To celebrate they will have the first annual “Dealie Awards”, given away based on the contestant’s costumes. The catch is people can trade their awards back for a prize if they want to. Given how these big episodes go, I’d be expecting to see some big prizes given away. Not only that, I’m hearing rumors that the legendary game show host and original Let’s Make A Deal host Monty Hall may be appearing on this episode on the show soon. I’m still trying to get confirmation, but I’ve heard multiple reports of it. Stay tuned for that one.
The Price is Right has two events coming up. First is host Drew Carey’s 500th episode. Those 500 episodes went by pretty quickly, didn’t they? I’m a bit shocked. This celebration will take place on Wednesday, March 10th. To celebrate this each contestant who gets on stage will receive a $500 gift, so more money available. Some popular games like “Hole in One” and “That’s Too Much” will be played also. Not only that some of the most popular prizes such as trips to Las Vegas via private jet and giant home theater packages will be given away. Again, Price tends to do really well with these special shows so this isn’t one to be missed.
Finally, that next Wednesday, March 17th, will see Price is Right having a special St. Patrick’s Day episode where everyone gets a shot of whiskey on stage. No, but it’ll still be fun. Special prizes like Mini Coopers and, of course, trips to Ireland will be given away. The set will be decked out for St. Patrick’s Day.
So just about each Wednesday afternoon on CBS will have some special event.

Question. When has That's Too Much been a popular game? It's almost never won, and it's not any more exciting than any other car game.

I was at the 100th LMAD show that taped in mid December. I would be happy to give you some information on the show, but I don't want to spoil anything. Let me know if you would like to know about anything!

Regarding the first 400 shows, I agree with you. Drew wasn't doing such a great job. Over the last 100, I can say that he finally "gets it". He understands the pricing games, interacts with the contestants better, and create a sense of drama for a price reveal.

I was thinking the same thing.
Oh well. Even Alex Davis can make mistakes! =P

Drew's only been on for 500 episodes!?! DAMN. It feels like he's been on for more! Of course, that's thanks in large part to the constant complaining from that one fansite and some certain people here…!
It's nice to see how much Drew has evolved in those 500 shows. I still say that, back in 2007 when the host search was going on, Drew would've been my last pick for host. He was practically a nobody, unless you consider Whose Line is it Anyway? a game show. And those first few months, as well as the first half of Season 37, were pretty rocky. But 500 episodes later, here we are with a fairly competent game show host. I'm glad I've stuck with the show through most of those 500 episodes.

Maybe he meant "popular" as in often played. So maybe the producers think it's popular!

These special shows sound good, especially if Monty shows up for the 100th CBS LMAD. I do have a suggestion for TPIR for a special showcase, if not a whole show, they could do. May 22, 2010, would have been Johnny Olson's 100th birthday. Since that date is also a Saturday, perhaps the May 21 episode could honor this centennial with a showcase of audio equipment (he was an announcer, after all), a trip to West Virginia (he owned a farm there) and A BRAND NEW CAR! (his most popular announcement, besides COME ON DOWN!). Thoughts, anyone?

Great Ideal. I suggest, since he knew Johnny O so well and wrote the book on him, that Randy West present it.
This sounds like a great line up of shows for the next few weeks. Too bad I have to go to school on those days, and I kinda wish I had a Tivo!!!!!!!
They could offer a trip to Miami Beach, where Johnny was the announcer on The Jackie Gleason Show.
Yes, Alex. Monty Hall will appear as a special guest on the show beginning March 22nd for at least two episodes. #1128 and #1129 were taped on January 28 and I was in the audience in Las Vegas for #1128. He did a "Monty's Wallet" deal that was awesome. It was great fun and to see Monty still making deals so many years later. He and Wayne were having so much fun together and I can't wait to see these air. It truly made my trip!

Was Deal's Allison Fiore fired?
Long live deal! Even though I've sene only a handful of eps, I really like what I see. The only thing I would change is that two people should go for the big deal instead of one. Everything else stays as is.

I don't think so, I haven't heard anything saying that she was let go.

I was in the audiance for the taping of the St Patricks day show. =) SO much fun!!
To whom it may concern : I have a complain concerning Mr Wayne Braddy on the 10/11/10 a contestant was unfairly treated ,he told the contestant to choose a box and trixt her into believing thre were a zonk, when infact ther were three prices one was 500 dollars and the other was a car, I felt that He talk hert out of winning eighther one of the two largest price. These kind of unfair dealings can result into lawsuits so please for the safety of the game show my advice to you all is to replace him. thank you
