Seems like Fremantle and the crew at The Price is Right are making another change for the better. According to executive producer Syd Vinnege, if you were a contestant on the show in the past you are allowed to come on again. However, there is just one restriction: you may not have played within the past ten years, which seems fair. It’ll make for some interesting conversations between contestants and Drew at least, hopefully.
They keep making changes to The Price is Right and I have yet to find a single bad one, or even a slightly negative one. With Drew in charge, the show seems fresh, new, and exciting. It’s actually making me care about the show now too, as it’s just fun to watch now. Drew’s absolutely fantastic, the set is nice, the music is great, and allowing some older contestants on what truly is a new edition of The Price is Right seems like a smart move to me.

that’s a neutral decision for me, my philosphy is usually you had your chance let someone else have a shot but if I’m not mistaken this may be the first show to do something like this. albeit a lot of shows have had returning champions but not from years and years prior.
heck, maybe now Fremantle will consider a tournamnet of champions with the audience loaded down with previous winners and the big winner getting an additonal $250,000.

Oh, it’s people who won that can get to come back as well?
I thought the new rule was just for folks who couldn’t make it out of Contestant’s Row (though certainly correct me if I’m wrong).
I would think that people who were the 9th contestant for the day (i.e. they had the really hard task of getting in only on, and then getting out on, the last IUFB) should get first crack at this.
Another thing is, how will those who used to be on the show will know about this (besides teh Intarweb, I guess)?

‘Bout damn time they did this. According to Golden Road.net, they’ve been doing it anyway by letting contestants from the Bill Cullen version become contestants. But still…
While most game shows are supposed to be considered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, TPIR is something of an exception because the game becomes unfair to those who come on down later. Also, three contestants are guaranteed to never make it up. This could be their chance to make a comeback!
You know, Vanna White and Linda Cardellini were contestants once. I wonder how they’ll react to this news? ;) Likewise, I wonder how the infamous girl whose tube top fell back in ‘77 or any of the people who were on the show in its first week who are still alive would feel about getting another chance? Oh, the possibilities… :O

This should be limited too contestants who did not make it on stage and it shouldn’t be any time limit.
