It’s seriously three weeks until GSN’s new original, Catch 21, comes out and they have not done a single bit of press about it. GSN hasn’t even said a single word yet. It seems like us, our good friends at HollywoodJunket, and our even better friends at Game Show NewsNet are the only people even acknowledging it. As a matter of fact, GSN hasn’t announced already known items like GSN Live’s extension, Bingo America’s renewal, or it’s gas giveaway. Who knows what’s going on. So to make sure you know the show isn’t dead, we’ll continue our publicity for what looks to be a very fun show. Here’s a preview of the precursor to the show: Casino. Catch 21 is basically the same exact show, but just with 1/4th the budget. Enjoy. So to make sure you know the show isn’t dead, we’ll continue our publicity for what looks to be a very fun show. I’m glad Ron Pearson isn’t hosting catch 21, he wasn’t terrible on Casino but he jsut doesn’t seem to be the right personality to me anyway.

I’m sure I brought this up in an e-mail to Alex — but it’s worth repeating.
“Catch 21″ is slated to debut on July 21st. Express the date numerically and you get — 7/21. The numbers 7 and 21 are synonymous with casino gaming (7 is generally considered a lucky number; a “7″ symbol is often found on many slot machines; 21…self-explanatory).
Whether or not that debut date is intentional due to the above reasoning we, for now, won’t know. But GSN should aggressively promote this series yesterday.
If after the 4th of July weekend we don’t see GSN’s corner bug with some blackjack artwork included therein, someone should wake up the PR department.

I saw the video “snippet” of CATCH-21. It’s not quite like GAMBIT, but who cares (really)? I mean, GAMBIT is a classic, and if one is building a game show around Blackjack, I can understand the temptation to draw comparasins.
Anyway, I hope CATCH-21 “catches” on…it could do reasonably well.

How come you didn’t mention Spike’s cousin “Top Card?” It was a classic.

In case everyone’s been under a rock the past day, GSN is indeed now promoting it with their new “Catch A Game” retro-60’s surfer dood campaign.
If I hear that song once more I think I’m going to hurl…
