Hopefully all of you that are able to went out and voted today. I did it last week so we’ll see how it goes. After you do, we have some game shows involving the election and voting.
First off, an old GSN friend started a new game called Palinisms. Are you as amused by Sarah Palin as I am? She’s, wow, she’s something. John Roberts, a former GSN vice president of interactive and online games who was responsible for the whole interactive television that was for some reason discontinued, made the new game. You ask Sarah Palin anything and she’ll respond with her usual whatever you’d like to call it. Pretty entertaining game, click here to play.
And nothing says presidential elections like voting, obviously. And nothing says voting game shows quite like one of my favorites, Weakest Link. Here is probably my favorite episode of the show. We posted a small portion before; here’s the whole thing.
Interviews with Chuck Woolery, Ken Jennings, and upcoming Trivial Pursuit news; all coming really soon!

I sure hope Trivial Pursuit lasts a little while longer (simply because I know someone who plans on appearing on the show). classicgameshows.com owner Mike Klauss split a pot of $13,000 (as part of America’s Team) on a recent episode. He said he hasn’t received the money yet (which would make things very interesting if the staff behind TP: AP never paid anyone a dime).

I also Won as an American team member (we split over $15,000) and I just mailed back my I-9 and Winners claim form.
The producers said I’ll get my check in 30-60 days (Just in time for Christmas.) I think the producers are commited to finsihing the season, like the Temptation ultimately did.
In Los Angeles, One reason the show is struggling is- its on at the same time as Daily Deal or No Deal. But, a time slot move (at this point) couuld get the TP dumped off, in some God forsaken infomerical time slot.
So, I hoping Brady Week or hopefully incresing the cash jackpot- will give a good show with great potential- a shot at success.

Hold on a second, insaneben. First, I think that’s a very bad and untrue characterization of the TP:AP staff. Second, my appearance on TP:AP was just this past Friday. Anybody who has ever been on a game show knows their winnings don’t arrive the day after you win. I’m not expecting to see my winnings for at least a few weeks, maybe as late as the end of the year.
I know what you’re saying. The way you’re saying it isn’t great.

I’m with insaneben on the hoping that TP:AP would succeed part. I applied to be a contestant on the show, but for some reason, I have yet to hear from them. And, if you know anything about game show winnings, it takes weeks to get it because of what Mike was implying. It’s mostly for tax purposes (the man has to get his issues as well). Hopfully, it’ll get better. And Brady Week? Nice way to kick off November Sweeps (although it happens on the 2nd week of Sweeps). Here’s an idea for future episodes:
1) Have some of America’s Team become contestants.
2) Have a “Second Chance” week where all the contestants that lost in the final round come back for a second chance.
3) And most important, a Trivial Pursuit America Plays Tournament of Champions where if you win the final round, you add it to the finals jackpot (similar to Family Feud’s Tournament).

Mike, I sincerely apologize for my rash comment regarding the TP: AP staff. I didn’t mean any harm, just wondering what would’ve happened had they never paid the winners (like the “Reel To Reel Picture Show” fiasco of 1998 or the 1987 Lingo disaster).
Having made such a mistake, at least now I know the average amount of time it takes to receive game show winnings (thanks to Mike and devares). Who says blogs can’t be educational?
