$1,000,000…for a chance at $9,000,000 MORE?! I mean, that is one heck of a carrot to dangle in front of a contestant. Yes, many would probably just take the million, but the point is, you risk a lot, to get, A WHOLE LOT MORE! Some people would indeed apply that kind of logic and go for it. Heck, if the situation in the game was fully ideal to go for that chance of a lifetime, I would take it!

Otherwise, I’m no fool, I’ll take the million thank you.

As far as Power of 10 is concerned, that is a nice move on CBS’ part. Hopefully it would become Michael Davies’ next big hit if done right.

Super Card Sharks is a better comparison than Super FF, indeed. In any event, I am excited about seeing Drew Carey back in game shows, and I think he could pull a Howie and really make something of this show. The format, alone, however, leaves a lot more to work with than DoND anyway, so I’m holding my hopes up. Let’s hope the production values mirror that of 1VC.

As with Kid Nation, I’m with the others. Interesting concept, but I too fear that exploitation and disturbing events may happen during its run. PLUS, having that many 8-15 year old hormone-infused, parentless, almost ruleless children is almost bound to bring something, uh, how can I say this politely…

CBS better watch their butts with this one…

KID NATION is a reality-based series in which 40 kids will have 40 days to build a new world - in a ghost town that died in the 19th Century. These kids, ages 8-15, will spend more than a month without their parents or modern comforts in Bonanza City, N.M., attempting to do what their forefathers could not - build a town that works. They will cook their own meals, clean their own outhouses, haul their own water and even run their own businesses - including the old town saloon (root beer only). They’ll also create a real government - four kid leaders who will guide the group through their adventure, pass laws and set bedtimes. Through it all, they’ll cope with regular childhood emotions and situations: homesickness, peer pressure and the urge to break every rule they’ve ever known. At the end of each episode, all 40 kids will gather at an old fashioned Town Hall meeting where they will debate the issues facing Bonanza City. They’ll show wisdom beyond their years and the unflinching candor that only kids can exhibit. There are no eliminations on KID NATION - you only go home if you want to. And in every Town Hall meeting, kids may raise their hands and leave. Will they stick it out? In the end, will these kids prove to adults everywhere (and their own parents!) that they have the vision to build a better world than the pioneers who came before them? And just as importantly, will they come together as a cohesive unit, or will they abandon all responsibility and succumb to the childhood temptations that lead to round-the-clock chaos? Reminds me of “Peter Pan”. The show sounds like fun.

A few people have suggested this could be a hit, but I fear this will be exploitative and disturbing.

Unless I’m missing some sort of front game, this looks like a half-hour-paced show which means the games won’t be meaningless for too long. I’m also thinking that if you’re wrong at any point, you go home with 1/10th of your original winnings.

However, there’s hope. This “Kid Nation” show sounds like a lot of fun. I’ll watch it. If Drew Carey is a good host, I’ll watch Po10. Maybe we’ll see an update to his “5 O’Clock World” music video.
