Temptation ratings are in as of Oct. 18th....

"A couple of new game shows continue to move slowly. Program Partners' "Merv Griffin's Crosswords" was at a 0.8 rating--flat versus a week ago. Twentieth's "Temptation," after having its ratings reprocessed for the past three weeks, barely showed up with a 0.4 number."

I completely agree with the poster that is annoyed with Rossi's continously calling them "temptation dollars." Rossi's voice and articulation is utterly annoying. It seems to get worse over time. Something is definitely missing with him -- doesn't seem legitimate. The format is pathetic, as is the horible "seenontemptation.com" gimmick. Can't wait to buy an overpriced set of cheap K-Mart luggage with my Temptation dollars....Temptation is the outlet mall of game shows.....

I highly agree with you Bryan. This was a sucky version of hit 80s game show. I do have some very good changes that could make it a hit.

1. Add cash jackpot to the list of prizes. Here's how MY prize list would go.

1. Prize from $500-2000 for T$125.
2. Prize from $2000-5000 for T$210.
3. Prize from $5000-10000 for T$340.
4. Prize from $10000-15000 for T$460.
5. Prize from $15000-30000 for T$600.
6. Prize from $30000-35000 for T$750.
7. CAR from $35000 on up for T$890.
8. All Prizes for T$995.
9. The LOT (prizes plus Cash Jackpot that starts at $75000 and increases $1000 each show until won) for T$1050.

2. Change the set. The set is a bad copy of the Australian one. Maybe they could do the old Australian set or the old American set with modern changes.

3. Don't syndicate it. Put it on a network on a 3-night-a-week basis (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) if possible.

4. NO Girly prizes!!!!! They're too cheap because apparently the people at FremantleMedia haven't watched the old version of Sale of the Century.

5. Expand question base. Like Bryan said, pop culture questions are good, but don't make them all the questions you ask. Sale was a QUIZ show at best. And there should only be 2 speedrounds. One halfway through the game at 30 seconds and the traditional 60 second one at the end.

6. Change Fame Game. Bring back the old fame game. It seems more fitting than the new one.

7. Change bonus round. Make it like the current Australian one, but, 60 seconds to answer 10 questions at T$10 a question. Winning the bonus round would net you T$200 extra.

I'll say it again - I'm not surprised. This was a horribly executed version of a popular international format handled by those retarded fools from Fremantle. If they want to keep Rossi, that's cool, but here's what I think they should do:

1. Bring much of the classic Grundy format back into the game. Me, I would love to see the famous faces board from the Australian show on the American edition's Fame Game; a Scrabble-like round for just $15 just doesn't seem right.

2. If you're going to keep Knock-Off, why not use it as an endgame rather than put it on twice a show? I am still adamant with the belief that if drags the front game way down.

3. To raise the stakes, why not add another level to the show that allows the players to own all of the prizes onstage? It could make for more big winners.

4. Broaden your base with the quiz material. Having mostly pop-culture questions is too restrictive.

I believe that this show has much more potential to be geared to more than just women if Fremantle had the brains and the sense to see that, because what they put on was just awful.

In response to 'Chris' from earlier replies who stated that the information is false: What are you actually watching at 9am local time? Every day since Monday, the same 30-minute infomercial "Build Your Wealth" has aired in Temptation's previous time slot. Don't go by the TV Guide listings; chances are, they haven't been updated yet. I didn't just haphazardly provide this information to Alex, I confirmed it with KPDX's programming director, Barbara Levey. Do your homework before you attack someone's sources, please.

In DC they are still airing Temptation in a 1 hour block from noon - 1pm.

I was watching it, but now I've stopped. To me, the only portion of it that I liked was the "Knock Off Round", which is basically Wipeout. Maybe Fremantle should just buy the rights to Wipeout and bring that back.

I agree with a lot of the statements here:
The theme music was awful.
Rossi eventually got on my nerves.
The prizes are WAY too girlie for the most part.
Most of the contestants are terrible. I actually question if some of them are alive.
Rolanda isn't the best announcer, either. But I'm sure they could have done worse.

Overall, I give it a C-.

Changes I would make:

Theme Song:
--not the exact theme from Perry's version, but perhaps a more modernized remix/remake

Gameplay:
--make the fame game more akin to the classic version (i.e. keep it the way they do it now, but instead of an automatic $15, for cryin out loud bring back the numbers board!! (w/ or w/o the random flashing "light" it wouldn't matter))
--replace Knock Off with another Fame Game as described above, and switch it with the second speed round (i.e. after the break, do the second speed round, then FG)
--make the final speed round 60 secs @ $5/question
--replace Super Knock Off with a variant of classic fame game: no question, just the numbers, the contestant would call a number, and reveal either a dollar amount or one (possibly of two or three) stoppers, blocks, Xs, or anything else that generally stops that part of the game then and there. after all numbers have been called (or a bad thing has been found), then on with the shopping
--Instant Ca$h...are you bloody joking...starting off at $500?? please! start @ at least $5K, and increase by $500 each time not won. as for the two smaller ones...eh, make em like $250, or maybe even make them the $500s

Prizes/Money:
--not original, everyone's said it i know, but i do agree, make the instant bargains/shopping prizes gender neutral

Set:
--keep the "front half" (i.e. the area w/the contestants, host, and the screen for the fame game) the way it is, but if the show had a theme like i had in mind (i.e. remixed perry version) the "shopping mall" motif in the back probably wouldn't fit, then again, maybe it might

Other Things:
--rossi...please...STOP calling them "Temptation Dollars" every chance you get. that's like JP saying "Sale of the Century Dollars" every 5 secs, old and annoying quick.
--and i remember reading this somewhere before, can't remember where, but i have to agree...how is it "more than a game show"?
